The hands-on archivist experience at the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives provides a unique chance to step into the role of a historian and archivist for three hours at a prestigious institution. Participants gain exclusive access to rare historical artifacts and documents, actively contributing to the preservation of Hawai’i’s rich cultural heritage. Unlike a typical museum tour, this experience allows for intimate interaction with lesser-known details of Hawaiʻi’s past. Participants can explore history and make a lasting impact by analyzing an archival document or photo that will be utilized by researchers globally, all under the guidance of an expert historian and archivist. Additionally, contributors will be credited on the digitized record on our digital collection website.
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Due to the delicate nature of our archival collection, we unfortunately must ask that nobody <18 years old accompany adults to the experience. Mahalo for understanding.
