Great Value - Great Day Out - Excellent tour and so much better than self-driving. By choosing this tour we saw and learned about places and events that we would otherwise have missed. By being part of this small group tour the whole experience felt personal and so much more enjoyable than expected. Highly Recommended.

Big day Out - We found the tour well worth while. The commentary from Robin was excellent. Loved getting the history as we travelled north and 90 mile beach stop was a great bonus We appreciated the door to door pickup from our accommodation as well. Robin was very professional and the trip was comfortable for myself as I was up front. Some rear passengers commented they were a bit bumped around. Thoroughly enjoyed the day out and thought it was good value

Great day out - Very nice day trip. Very scenic and well worth a visit. The tour was value for money and very enjoyable. Derek our driver was friendly and able to tell us some of the history of the area. It is priceless having a local guide as they are able to point out other places that may be of interest during your stay and also know the best places to stop for refreshments.

Door to Door Service - We joined this tour from Mangonui, where we were staying for a couple of nights. After driving a long way, we decided that taking a tour up to Cape Reinga would give us a break, and a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our tour manager, Robin, entertained all five people on our tour with interesting facts and stories as we headed north. His knowledge and experience was second to none. Experiencing the trip to the top of the North is something everyone in NZ should do at least once in their lifetime, and this is the way to do it! Faultless in every way - if you are thinking about taking a tour to Cape Reinga - then book this one!

Rainy day to Cape Reinga - Unfortunately the day we went it poured with rain. We still enjoyed the trip as the driver kept us really informed and his knowledge about the area was very good and kept us amused. Again the 90 mile beach tour went ahead but couldn't get out of the coach due to the weather. If the weather was good the view would be brilliant.

Slightly disapointed! - While out guide Robin was excellent we were slightly disappopinted (considering the price) in the quality of the vehicle used that day as it was an earlier model 11 seater Toyota Hi Ace van and it was very cramped and extremely bouncy if you were sitting in the back, which we were. We are in our sixties and could put up with it but we felt extremely sorry for an elderly couple beside us and two ladies in their early eighties in front of us who all felt the same. Also a suggestion would be to make it clearer on the website or before pickup that or if the tour is only visiting 90 mile beach rather than driving down it which we imagined it to do. Also it does not mention anywhere that meals are not included in the price. This is meant only as constructive criticism as I think Mullarkey tours are still a great little company and could corner a very niche market.

Disappointing - We were sitting in the back of the van and could not hear the commentary. There was no lunch or morning/afternoon tea included which I would have expected given the cost of it. It was basically a drive up the road with a few short stops. We would have been better off hiring a car and driving ourselves.

Cape Reinga - 90 mile beach tour - We were very disappointed. We expected to drive the length of 90 mile beach - we did this a few years ago with another company. We did not. Yet the title of the tour was '90 mile beach tour'. We have travelled NZ and the world extensively with numerous tour companies. Your bus did not even have a company logo on it. We could hardly hear the part-time driver's commentary - very poor acoustics. For the price paid we also expected packed lunches, hot and cold drinks. Instead we had to queue at a 3rd rate cafe with limited stock available. Had it been raining, I did not notice any provision for umbrellas etc. I feel like going on fb and telling the world how unhappy we were. It was perhaps one of the most unprofessional trips we have ever done. We may as well have just driven up there and back in our own car - which we could have done. If you want to survive, you need to lift your game.
