Additional Information

The International Military Tribunal conducted the Trial of Major War Criminals in Nuremberg between November 20, 1945, and October 1, 1946. The trial took place in Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, earning it global recognition. Between 1946 and 1949, 12 additional ‘Subsequent Trials’ occurred within the same courtroom, presided over solely by U.S. military tribunals.

To this day, in the southeast region of Nuremberg, remnants of the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds continue to astonish visitors because of their enormous size, serving as a stark reminder of the National Socialist regime’s megalomania. This 4-square-mile area was purposed to provide an awe-inspiring backdrop to the Nazi parties’ rallies, demonstrating their strength, not just to Germany, but globally.

An interesting tour - This was an interesting tour, with lots of details added by our guide. I didn't know that Adidas & Hugo Boss made boots & uniforms for the German Army. If you are interested in WW2 history then it is a must & even if you're not a history enthusiast, the tour is brought alive by the interesting information given. It would have been good to have a little more time at the Courtroom 600 exhibit but we decided to be taken back to our hotel by our guide, rather than opting to say goodbye to our guide at the Courtroom & make our way back by public transport. It was amazing to see how huge these sites were when they were in use.

Interesting tour with lots of information - The info that our guide told us to explain more than we were expecting than just the sites we were looking at. More time in the exhibition of courtroom 600 would have been better. We were offered this but chose to be taken back to our hotel rather than stay longer & come back by public transport.

Interesting tour with a lively tour guide - Not your boring tour guide. Our guide Rob shared interesting stories of history, was lively and friendly. Made the tour fun and interactive. Was nice especially dealing with such a heavy topic.

Very informative tour- a different side of Nuremberg - We did this trip with a group of 7: 5 adults (including 2 seniors) and 2 kids (ages 15 and 11). We were all very glad that we did this, since without this tour our 2-day experience in Nuremberg would have been just the old town attractions. Instead we were treated to something completely different. Our guide (Seba) was very enthusiastic about the topic and gave us tons of fascinating information...basically 20 years of history from 1925 to 1945 that included not just the normal war topics but also industry, finances, roads, architecture, etc. It was a boiling hot day and there was a section of information while parked in the van that probably could be shortened a bit, but it was interesting nonetheless. Pickup and dropoff were very prompt and we saw the rally grounds, the zeppelin field, and both inside and outside of the arena, before going to the courtroom. There was really no way that I think we could have done this on our own with our own car, since a lot of areas looked like places we weren't supposed to drive. At dropoff he offered to drop us off near the market square instead of the hotel. The courtroom is not part of the "tour"- the guide lets you go in on your own. The only thing I would say here is that you don't really need the audio guide at the courtroom for the amount of time you get; we had basically just sat down and started listening when the room darkened and they did an audio/visual presentation which was good. Overall I learned a lot about a part of Nuremberg that I would have not have otherwise seen and I'm really glad I did.

Nuremberg WWII architecture tour - Our guide was knowledgeable and a good storyteller. We enjoyed the tour - just a shame we were not able to stay and explore the Nuremberg Palace of Justice a bit more - especially since we had to pay an entrance fee and the experience did not represent value for money due to the timing and time spent there.

Underwhelming and Overpriced. - Zeppelin Field and the courthouse were the only worthwhile stops and we had to pay our own way into the courthouse. Whole tour was overpriced.

Horrible. - Booked a trip to Nurnberg especially for this tour. I booked the tour months in advance. A few days before the tour I got contacted that the tour was cancelled. Because of the short notice there was no other tour available in whole Nurnberg :( The tour operator gave me alternatives for this tour in another week…. A week that we weren’t in Nurnberg. We also couldn’t cancel our hotel so we went to Nurnberg and couldn’t have a guided tour with anyone… and that was the whole reason we booked a trip. Never will book here again. Horrible.
