To discover, for the greatest pleasure - For the second time passing through this village, with as much pleasure in wandering there, and seeing this English artist again, hiding in the attic, to find him he will be in this old and magnificent building facing the church, you will be surprised .

Great trip with a great guide - Excellent trip with a super guide, visiting 3 beautiful villages and a 50 minute boat tour. Timings were good, and we had enough time in each place, with extra information from our guide who was very knowledgeable. Good shoes such as trainers are needed as there are steps and some steep paths, so flip flops not a good idea. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Dordogne villages - Anne gave us a lovely introduction to the villages in the area and their history. Super viewpoints across the river valley and an enjoyable boat trip on the Dordogne, where we learnt about historic trade on the river. Everyone in our group was friendly. Beynac is quite a steep descent by foot from the top. Less mobile people might want to travel back down in the vehicle.

Great tour - Doing the half day tour if this beautiful area in a small group with English commentary was perfect. Anna was a fantastic guide with a great sense of humour.

Delightful Dordogne - a must see! - The tour provides a great introduction to some of the beautiful medieval villages of the Dordogne valley, particularly for those who do not have a car to get around. The cruise down the Dordogne River on a traditional Gabarre is also a highlight and the best vantage point to get photos of the villages & castles. The tours are with small, manageable groups, and the van comfortable and air conditioned. I was fortunate to have Anne on all three tours I did in the region with Ophorus. She was fantastic - knowledgeable, good fun, accommodated everyone’s needs which made the tour special for me! Highly recommend especially if you don’t have a car. The tour company do such an amazing job that I think they should offer full day village tours so that travellers can spend more time in each of the villages and/or see more of the villages (especially for travellers who don’t have a car). Thank you Ophorus…I had a wonderful experience!

Amazing educational experience! - We had a great trip with Ann! She was extremely helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable guide! She answered all our questions and even gave us some tips for our next trips in the area. She is also an excellent driver! This trip was very pleasant, it covered 2 major historical sights and a boat ride on Dordogne river. I would recommend this trip ( and Ann ) to everyone!

France Tour - Ben was a great guide and very knowledgeable. The mix of villages was very interesting with some great views of the Dordogne valley from the high points. The hour on the boat ride was a great way to chill for a bit while taking in the views and information from a different perspective

Nice way to spend an afternoon. - Lovely trip through 3 typical villages, each with something unique to it. Ann was a great guide and driver. My main issue had to do with the boat ride. It was all in French and while we were given Audio guides, what we heard was completely different and not at all current compared to what the tour guide was saying. I understand enough French to know the difference and the experience was very disappointing.

Ophorus was a disappointment - After seeing positive reviews I contacted them to ask about private or small group tours. I was expecting something similar to my highly successful experience with Context Tours in Italy. This experience was terrible. Marion was slow to respond. She kept trying to treat my friend and I as a couple going so far as to book us in one room and sending me a single bill though we repeatedly told her we were two individuals who required individual bills and separate rooms. She insisted on booking our hotel in Sarlat but screwed around until we had no lodging options except for a tour group hotel that was very basic. It turns out she booked us for a series of their standard daily tours rather than helping us plan something special. The guide was okay, nothing special, and frankly we saw more interesting things on our own than they arranged. The total cost of the tour and hotel were far higher than the value provided. It is very easy to plan a better experience for yourself than to rely on Ophorus.
