To reach Bunaken Island, one can take a speedboat or charter boat from the port of Manado, a roughly 30-minute journey. Bunaken Island is surrounded by a marine park that forms a part of the Bunaken National Park. This marine park is known for possessing one of the highest levels of marine biodiversity globally and is a popular destination for scuba divers. The marine park spans an impressive 75,265 hectares and includes five islands: Manado Tua (Manarauw), Bunaken, Siladen, Mantehage along with a few of its smaller islands, and Naen Island. Despite its vast area, diving activities are restricted to specific beaches on each of the five islands.
