Exceptional tour guide - Did not know what time my tour was. I found the tour guide a she was extremely friendly and patient. She felt bad that I did not know my scheduled time which was 3 hours later. The tour guide even sought me out at North Cape and asked I if had seen every thing and asked if I would like to take an earlier shuttle back to the ship.

NordicBusdriver Bernadette – a bus driver with a heart for the High North - During our excursion to the legendary North Cape, we were privileged to have Bernadette as our driver – and what a relief that was! From the moment we got in, we felt in good hands. Bernadette welcomed us with a warm smile, an infectious dose of energy and the kind of relaxed professionalism you rarely encounter. The road to the North Cape is no mean feat – winding, misty and often treacherous – but Bernadette manoeuvred our bus with the ease of a local and the calm of a mountain goat. Along the way we enjoyed beautiful views over the rugged Magerøya landscape, got to know a local Sami family, and even got to see reindeer up close. While we soaked up the magic of Lapland, Bernadette kept the rhythm tight but relaxed – always on time, never in a hurry. And then there was the highlight: the North Cape itself. Wind, clouds and a view that makes you quiet. Bernadette made sure everyone got to their destination safely – and left feeling good. After this Arctic adventure she also took us to the charming harbour of Honningsvåg, where we enjoyed colourful houses, fishing boats and a unique mix of rugged coastal culture and warm hospitality during a short city tour. What made this ride special was not only the destination, but the journey itself – and that is largely due to Bernadette. Her driving style is controlled and smooth, her attitude is always friendly and helpful, and she has an eye for both safety and atmosphere. Bernadette is more than just a driver – she’s a fellow traveler, a rock in the surf and a quiet force that takes an excursion to the next level. We are sincerely grateful for this unforgettable day above the Arctic Circle. NordicBusdriver Bernadette gets a big 10 from us!

Enjoyable Northern Cape Tour - Many travelers from same cruise ship interested with this tour. The meeting point was crowded. Fortunately it was quite organized and we were on the bus shortly after. The bus driver was Bernstein. She was also the tour guide on the bus giving us lots of interesting and funny info. We had a blast. We went to see the reindeers first. In fact we saw two at the small shop. Plus we saw a bunch by the road side. Then we went to the North Cape. A bit windy but no rain. Everyone there was in high spirits. On the way back B took us around the town a bit and finally we stopped to go see the northern light show, and returned to the ship. Thoroughly enjoyed the excursion. Would recommend this to anyone.

A curates egg! - Visit to North Cape from-Nordkapp was good although fog restricted views as it had done all morning. Visitor centre excellent. The Reindeer and Sami family visit was pure tourist trap stop and pretty grim. The commentary on the coach was by tape in English and German and was informative and witty - a rare combination. All a bit rushed but good overall.

Visit Northern Cape - Beautiful route from Honningsvåg to the North Cape with fantastic guide and bus driver Bernadette. A little more available time on North Cape would have been nice. Visit Sami family is nice but doesn't amount to much.

Disappointing - Disappointing. Perhaps our guide was tired but she wasn’t overly enthusiastic. Seeing two king crabs in a tub outside a building was a bit dull. The fishing village was interesting but brief. We had to hurry back to our guides friends shop…. Bit too long there. North cape was fine. Basically a giant gift shop with places to eat. Weather was bleak but they can’t help that of course. Was nice to see it. Promises of meeting a sammi family and to have our photo taken with a reindeer didn’t eventuate. One sad looking reindeer tethered to a tent. A gift shop with a sammi women who wasn’t overly friendly. Perhaps a different guide might have given us a different experience.

Viator oversold excursion - Viator claimed in a message to us a couple of days before the excursion date that our tour was not operating that day and switched us to a stripped down version of the tour at a different time. However, when the tickets showed up in our basket, the original time was listed on the ticket so we went to the meeting place at the time on the ticket. Shortly after boarding the tour bus, the tour operator kicked us off the bus because we were supposed to be on the later tour as mentioned in the messages but NOT in agreement with the tickets we had received from Viator. During our discussions off the bus with the tour operator, we found out from the tour operator directly that Viator had oversold the upscale tour. The tour operator also said this is frequent problem they have with Viator. The tour was fine but the hassles we had to go through on the ground due to Viator overselling the upscale tour, giving us conflicting information on which tour and time we were supposed to be on, and then having to get off a tour bus we had been allowed to board left a sour taste with respect to Viator.

The experience was average. Basically it was transport to and from port to and from the North Cape. - The bus ride was interesting. We enjoyed the commentary on the bus. We were disappointed in the visited to the Sami Family reindeer farm it was very underwhelming.

Poor Organisation - Driver didn’t know how to drive the coach….wasnt instructed to take us to “fishing village” as per on itinerary. Thankfully we disembarked the coach unscathed!!

Chaotic at best - I purchased an excursion to coincide with cruise ship being in port. North Cape Express with Sami family visit. Did not receive vouchers in a timely basis. Kept calling Viator. They would send messages & I would send messages. Kept being assured they were “on their way”. Then about five days before the excursion (already on ship but thankfully checking email) received an email saying my trip was cancelled but offered an alternative. So, with no choices left, I took the alternative (fewer features) trip. But, THEN I started getting vouchers for the ORIGINAL trip! Now I had NO idea what trip I was on or what time. Various vouchers had various times. (8:30, 11:15, 1:00). No clue what time I needed to get off the ship (tender port). So, got off in time for 8:30 to check in just in case. Found out we weren’t scheduled until 1:00! So, 4 hours to hang around town with no shops open yet. Regarding the actual trip—— massive chaos at the check in point!!! Everyone just crowding. “Don’t worry folks we have room for all of you on multiple busses” — even though only one bus was sitting there!!! And when we got to North Cape— “I’ll pick you up right here—- just look for Natasha in the green jacket”. Ya right!!! Started searching parking lot shortly before pickup time —bus in different place and Natasha had removed her green jacket. So much for identifying feature!!! I have used Viator numerous times with no problems but this vendor should be removed. DOES. NOT LIVE UP TO VIATOR STANDARDS in any regard. What a mess!!! Now I can’t wait to get home & see what they have done with my credit card!!!
