Upon reaching the opposite shore, there is a 45-minute walk to the ice. During the hike to the glacier, the guide will share insights about glaciers, their functions, historical movements, and local history. Once at the glacier, participants will put on crampons and ropes for a leisurely two-hour glacier exploration.
This kayak and glacier hike tour is ideal for families visiting in May or June, until tours on Styggevatnet commence in July. At that point, the Glacier Half Day Tour on Styggevatnet becomes available.
The meeting point for this tour is the Breheimsenter. Participants will follow the Icetroll vehicle to the lake, noting a 90kr toll along the way. This toll can be paid up to 48 hours after the trip via the website mentioned on the sign at the National Reserve entrance.
