Highlights
  • Eidfjord Municipality - After a convenient pickup, we will kickstart our adventure by taking the winding roads of Måbødalen, where each turn reveals a breathtaking view. This route is known as one of Norway’s renowned 18 scenic roads! As we ascend, your guide will share captivating stories, all the while you see the landscape transform before your eyes. The higher we climb, the rockier the terrain becomes, with fewer trees and a more rugged ambiance, eventually leading us to the largest high-altitude plateau in Northern Europe.
  • Fossli Hotel - This hotel still has the same atmosphere as when it was built in 1891. It was a popular destination frequently visited by the renowned Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.

Today, it remains a favored spot, offering you the chance to immerse yourself in the present ambiance, enjoy a coffee and pie, and explore the souvenir shop.

  • Voringfossen - No rush, you’ll have ample time to enjoy Vøringfossen your way. Perfect for explorers, hikers, and those who prefer a more easy going pace.

You’ll be able to choose a trail with some rugged sections and cross a walking bridge over the gorge.

For a relaxed experience, head to the spacious viewing platform that offers an unobstructed view and excellent photo opportunities.

  • Sysendammen - A short walk on the dam offers an interesting experience, as it is fascinating to see the deep valley on one side and the high water from the lake on the other. Depending on the weather, it may also be possible to spot the second-largest glacier in Norway from the dam.
  • Hardangervidda National Park - Discover the beauty of Hardangervidda, Norway’s largest National Park. Above the tree line, you’ll find yourself surrounded by vast moorlands and calm lakes that stretch across the horizon. In this untouched realm, the only hint of human presence is the winding road that crosses the landscape.

Nice alternative to cruise line excursion. - We booked this tour as an alternative to booking one through the cruise line and were very pleased with the experience. Our guide Sabrina was professional and informative. She made a great call to flip our stops so we could see the waterfall in better weather conditions.. In addition to the dam, plateau and the waterfall, we were able to stop on the side of the road to take some incredible pictures of the old road and experience the massive rock formations towering over a raging river. Was a memorable experience and really captured the rugged beauty of Norway.

Vertigo! - Great! We walk quite a bit, but the huge waterfalls, waterfalls can be earned! Dizzying views. So much difference in level that water vapour rises. If you are dizzy it is not always ideal but beautiful!

Shore excursion - Great alternative to excursion offered by ship. More time at each stop as ship excursions were pulling in around same time but leaving earlier.
