Highlights
  • Paradise Wild Hills Resort - Attention all nature lovers and star enthusiasts! We invite you to join us in the breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful wilderness of Wildhills at Kodachadri Forest. This unique and stunning location is one of the few remaining dark zones with zero light pollution, making it the perfect place for a night of star gazing.

Plan to arrive in the afternoon and explore the forest trails. We will have an early dinner and convene outside to view the night skies. We offer loungers in the forest clearing for comfortable viewing. You can see quite a few stars, planets, constellations, and the Milky Way with your naked eye. We do have small telescopes and binoculars for the community that will be shared. Do bring your own telescopes for a better experience.

Our guests have been able to view in detail Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, Saturn’s Rings, Galilean Moons of Jupiter, Sirius, Craters on the moon’s surface & Orion’s Nebula with their telescope. We also often spot shooting stars in the clear night sky.

The star gazing activity can go on till the wee hours of the morning. We do have a free breakfast as part of this tour. You can then continue to explore the forest before you head back.

Additional Information

The picture-perfect canvas of Kodachadri Peak, which is encircled by the dense Mookambika National Park, is the ideal location for stargazing. Kodachadri, Karnataka’s tenth-highest mountain and one of the most well-known hikes in the Western Ghats, has been designated as a “Natural Heritage Site” by the state government. It is a rather remote area with no light pollution. As a result, it is assured that, under clear skies, one may see the Milky Way Galaxy and numerous constellations clearly without the need for a telescope. Since this summit is located in the western ghats’ medicinal plant zone, the night air is frequently scented with the aroma of herbs. The best time to plan this trip is during new moon nights.
