Fun walking food tour - This was a great tour to explore Nice and try a bunch of different types of local foods. We had an olive oil tasting, charcuterie and wine, a local lunch, gelato and chocolates. Everything was amazing! We walked from place to place which was a great way to explore but make sure you wear walking shoes.

Must do! - My wife and I, including our 14 yo son, did this tour this afternoon. We had been looking forward to it and it exceeded our expectations. Sinéad was a great guide. What started as just a food tour, evolved into a food, architectural and music tour. Perfect afternoon!

Very comprehensive experience of the foods of Côte d'Azur, led by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. - Bring an appetite. You’re going to taste and eat a good variety of interesting and delicious local foods and wines. Our guide, Camilla is a native of the area and was a well informed tour guide. She answered all of our food questions, and my random history questions earnestly and with genuine enthusiasm. We met in the center of town, and started with an olive oil shop that had been in business for almost 200 years. There we sampled a variety of infused olive oils and fruity vinegars. I purchased a couple bottles of the oils. We then went to a restaurant to try different local cheeses and cured meats, as well as wines. Then we went to another restaurant where we tried different focaccia-like flatbreads, chickpea fritters, chickpea crepes ‘socca’, breaded vegetables, marinara, sweet pepper dip, and tapenade from local olives, and of course, more wine. We then went to a gelato shop and had some gelato that went down very easily. Finally, another generations-old shop that had a variety of traditional sweets. We tried cocoa almonds, a generous portion of candied fruit, and chocolates, all made in house. The pace was very relaxed. We had more than enough time to sample, eat and relax. As we walked along the old quarter of Nice, she pointed out various points of interest and told us some good stories about local legends as well as distant archaeological and classical history related to the area. I went with my wife and my daughter, who is eight years old. My daughter is a very good eater, not picky, will eat basically anything that my wife and I are eating. When we were sampling wine, she enjoyed an Orangina. We gave her some screen time, and brought a sketchbook for her to doodle in. She was happy and loved the food, and naturally the sweets were a huge hit with her, as much as the adults. I don’t recommend this if your kid is picky or only eats box mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. But if your child has a good pallet and is curious and well behaved, bring them along. Children have a reduced ticket, because they’re not sampling any of the wines. I only have one suggestion to make it even better. Bring back the anchovies, maybe just add them to a small piece to start. I guarantee I’m not the only American anchovy eater!
