I am glad I chose those tour - Very interesting tour! Perfect for everyone who would like to see how many Vietnamese lived after the war. I personally loved the part with the pagoda. Visiting the children living there is a very special and heartwarming experience. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and does his best for everyone.

Great day with Danny - Went on tour with Danny from Pham's tours and had a wonderful day. Danny is a great guide and he made this one of our best days in Southeast Asia. Danny is very knowledgeable and obviously loves what he does. Really liked the hat making and the spring roll demonstration.

Interesting and fun tour - We were looking for a wheelchair access tour to see some of Nha Trang which we knew would be almost impossible to navigate on our own. The email correspondence to organise the tour was very easy and responsive. We had a private car - still a challenge as it was quite high - but the driver and our guide assisted happily all day. We also were collected from our accommodation which made things easier! Our driver was excellent - we felt very safe in his hands at all times! Our tour guide, Danny, was friendly and chatty. He shared lots of interesting information and made sure we were having fun. He was cheeky and funny! We loved visiting the family businesses and the orphanage. The lunch was amazing - in a beautiful spot by the river and absolutely delicious. So much food!! We thoroughy enjoyed our tour! Thanks for a fun day!

Great private tour as an alternative to Princess Excurions - My family and I were booked on the Diamond Princess cruise to SE Asia in January 2019. We were looking for private tour recommendations from friends and family as we know that booking via Princess can be costly (and in massive groups of up to 40!) We were initially recommended a different company but they did not conduct tours in Nha Trang, only in Saigon. That company referred us to Dung Pham. We had many emails back and forth and clear instructions about how to reach the tour van from the port gate (a 3 minute walk). Value: Excellent. You just cannot get this kind of pricing from a Princess excursion. USD$60 per person which includes the lunch (plus drinks), water, a private air conditioned bus, admission fees, and a very enjoyable river cruise. Just a note that Dung Pham's itinerary outline is very clear about what is, and isn't included so there were no surprises here. Group Size: Excellent. We had 11 people in our group, so it felt very intimate and customized. Since we were a smaller group our guide An was able to answer any of our questions with great depth. Tour Guide: Excellent. An really made this tour shine. His english is excellent, he was friendly, approachable, helpful, and very cognizant of the needs of our group. He helped us barter for some fruit in a local market, and we didn't feel pressured at any point to purchase anything. Included Lunch: Fabulous. There were some dietary restrictions in the group, but there were enough varieties of dishes that no one went hungry. In fact there was so much food there was lots left over. Chicken, shrimp, fish, lots of veggies, and even drinks were included. We were seated comfortably in a covered area and had a leisurely lunch. Overall: This was an incredible private tour and I would highly recommend this tour company. I have been on Princess excursions before and they just don't have the same authentic 'feel' as a private tour. On a large scale tour you are stuffed in a bus with many other people who may travel at varying different paces (read: slower pace), and they tend to bring you to a product showroom where you are pressured to buy. Though these large excursions may be good for brainless-convenience, if you're willing to do some research you'll find some gems out there. There are honest, hard-working people who want to show you their country share their knowledge with you. Dung Pham tours (and our wonderful guide An) is an wonderful example of a private tour done right.

Nha Trang Special Countryside + River Cruise by boat (Shore excursion for cruisers) - Port of Call: Nha Trang tour name: Nha Trang Special Countryside + River Cruise Organized by: Dung Pham tours Vessel: Ovation of The Seas, RC, 16 oct 2018 This was our 2nd visit to Nha Trang port. Having done in 2017 a Royal Carribean Nha Trang city tour, and having being somehow disappointed, this time I was looking for a more real-life oriented tour with a smaller group of people. After having evaluated several options through Internet I can say that the Dung Pham tours was the winning choice: Dung Pham is offering small groups tailored tours also allowing great interaction and proactivity to help looking for the necessary fellows passengers, each of them dealing directly with him for the final arrangements. Our group was supposed to be 9 people but unfortunately 2 fellow passengers had a last minute problem and could not participate, but this did not affect the schedule and the price per person. We easily met our guide Denny just at the entrance of the port (some 500 mt from the tenders drop point), unfortunately quite late around 9:30 (while they were waiting for us since 7:30!!) due to long debarcation time via RC tenders, so our excursion -that was taking the whole day in Nhat Trang- had to be trimmed a little. Originally our guide Danny, mr. Dang Nguyen, didn't mean to visit the Orphanage, but a nice couple in our group that did this tour one year ago recommended this visit so we re-arranged the schedule and included the orphanage plus the embroidery factory as well (they wanted to purchase something), but we had to trim the ancient house and the Ponagar Cham temple. So we went first to purchase some food as offer for the orphanage in a local market (an experience by itself!!) and then headed to the Cai river for the river cruise. This was an opportunity to see a slice of local life along the river: rice paddies, fishermens, beautiful scenery along the banks, orchards and farmers. We stopped under a very intersting wooden "toll" bridge for motorcicles, linking a river island. Then we visited a house with 2 ladies weaving mats from rushes which grow nearby. The working process is very rural, it was interesting to see such type of artisanal work since surely won't last for long: two ladies working together can weave four mats a day, sold or traded at very low price. After that we visited the Pagoda Orphanage: here some Buddhist noons and other volunteers care of 25 abandoned children plus handle a charity school for around 100 kids of poor families. This was very interesting and touching moment. We delivered our small gifts to the kids and they singed a thanksgiving song for us. Then we had a good local lunch in a very pleasant restaurant veranda on the Cai river, under the shadow of some trees. During the lunch mr. Dung Pham reached us and surprised me offering a wonderful delicious birthday cake: it was my birthday and I didn't even remember to have communicated my birthday date to him, and the surprise was really great and unexpected, contributing to make this day even more special to me. We shared the cake after lunch with joy. After lunch we visited a Conical hat making family: two ladies (mother and daugther) are making the traditional conical hats and it was very interesting to admire the manual skill and the work behind. The following visit to a Rice paper making location was really interesting: the thin rice paper used to wrap spring rolls are made from steamed rice and processed in a very primitive way into round piece that are later dried in the sun on bamboo brackets. We then reached a hill to visit the 68 mtrs tall Amitabha Buddha statue. After we had a 30 minutes stop in Dam Market, a place plenty of cheap tourist supply but also some interesting local foods. I would personally have avoided this stop. The last stop was the embroidery factory where some valuable piece of arts are produced, for a quite high price. We went back to ship 30 minutes before the last tender. The tour was good and interesting, surely better than the equivalent offered by Royal Caribbean that we took last year. My only recommendation would be to insist to include the ancient Ponagar Cham temple, that I visited last year and I believe should not be missed, since this looks like the most interesting historical spot in the area (while for example the Amitabha Buddha statue is quite modern and could be skipped without regrets). The great value of this type of tours is that you can discuss and customize them with Dung Pham assistance, and his wish to put the accent to the human aspects of Vietnamese life.

Amazing Tour Nha Trang City & Countryside - During our cruise to Vietnam we were fortunate to have had a wonderful experience touring with Pham tours. This tour gave us an inside look into the everyday lives of the local people and culture. It was fascinating to see how rice noodles, rice paper and conical hats were made by local family businesses. We visited an orphanage which I thought would be depressing, however it was a nice experience to watch the children playing and interacting with each other. We were not asked for donations, although we would have gladly donated. We had a delicious lunch as well. Driving past the rice paddy fields we got to see water buffalo and farmers at work. We also stopped at a mat making factory. The Ponagar Temples were beautiful as well as the Amitabha Buddha. Nha Trang has a beautiful beach and gorgeous hotels. We wish we could have spent more time in port. Pham Tours is highly recommended. Sandra & David, Ringwood, NJ

Unforgettable - Danny was our guide for this wonderful tour in Vietnam. He patiently waited until our group of 9 was able to come ashore, since this port required tender transport. He was very kind and his English was quite good. We visited the orphanage and saw the well cared for, happy faces of many children that have been personally helped by him and his company. We learned a great deal about old and new Vietnam, saw the amazing handiwork of making conical hats and mat weaving. We had a wonderful and plentiful lunch in a restaurant by the river, spectacular! The embroidery shop we visited had unbelievable works of art, which we saw also in progress. The van was very comfortable, the driver was excellent and Danny’s attention to our needs and interest was very much appreciated. This tour was great!

Nha Trang Special Countryside + City Tour by 16 seat van plus a river cruise by boat - Great tour. A bit disjointed at the pickup as the tenders were running slow. Found the driver outside of port and off we went. Interesting stops and a great lunch. River tour timing was messed up but all worked out as we left lunch on the river tour.

Set up last minute and it was great - We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise that was supposed to make a port visit to Ho Chi Minh City but the port was cancelled last minute and Nha Trang was substituted. I found this company online and quickly set up a tour for 10 of us including 10 and 13 year old kids. We took a tour of what was referred to as cottage industries, small businesses many out of people's homes. We went to an embroidery factory where they embroider beautiful pictures (we bought one). We also went to see mat weaving, rice paper making, conical hat making. Along the way we also toured Pagoda Orphanage, a 68 meter tall Amitabha Buddha statue and Dam Market. A very educational and enjoyable day. Thank you to our tour guide Danny

Great tour with a fun guide! - My family enjoyed the Pham Countryside tour. Our guide Pham was knowledgeable, funny, and made sure that we were happy with the experience. The orphanage was special to us and we thought our lunch on the river was one of the best meals we have had on our trip It was a very good value for what we got in return, so if you are interested in learning about Vietnamese culture, you can't go wrong with this tour.
