A Heartwarming and Eye-Opening Tour in Kibera - The tour was incredibly eye-opening and meaningful. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Nairobi. What impressed me the most was the school they support and the children there. I was really glad to learn that part of the tour’s earnings goes toward running the school for these kids. It’s a great opportunity to see Kibera and meet its friendly and welcoming people—especially the children, who were absolutely adorable! I definitely want to come back and visit Kibera again.

Life changing tour of Kibera - This was an outstanding tour. It was led by Elijah. So many highlights. So much learning. Lucas and Elijah are exceptional men and father figures in their community. They are uplifting primary school age children through quality education and use the tours as a way to help fund this much needed initiative. I felt very safe in the township. I learned a lot and am very happy I did this tour.

Highy recommended - Lucas is an amazing guide and the stops we made during our visit to Kibera were perfectly suited for myself and the other female visitor. We were lucky to visit a temporary art gallery showcasing works of female artists in Kibera, along with another female empowerment and upcycling initiative founded by Kibera women. Lucas also took us to a Kibera grassroots initiative that re- and upcycles materials into beautiful jewelry, clothes and trinkets, and Lucas told us about Kibera fashion week that is regularly hosted nearby to showcase Kibera designers' work. We also visited a school that is financed by proceedings earned from tours in Kibera. In addition to learning how life and community is organized inside Kibera, Lucas provided elaborate explanations and insights into Kiberas history, hardships, as well as ongoing development and improvement efforts. I highly recommend joining Lucas' tour; and if you do, check with him upfront if they need any material such as books at the school, as you could donate it for the kids. Thank you Lucas!!

Highly recommended! - We really enjoyed the Slum Tour, because we got to see how life is in the slums. Lucas took us to special places, which was very interesting! He also made us feel safe to go through the Slums. It was an experience we will never forget. When you visit Nairobi, you must book a slum tour with Lucas!

A nice experience into dark tourism - Are you ready to visit the poorest part of Nairobi? Well, that's the right experience , then.... The guide was very helpful, having large knowledge about the history of the places. You will meet a lot of children, so please buy in advance at least 3-4 bags of candies/lollipops, and you will make a lot of children happy

Good experience for dark tourism - A genuine experience for the dark tourists. Being first time in Nairobi , the guide explained me with patience all the questions I had. The experience is 3 hours walk, so you have to be in good shape.... The school experience is simply amazing! I recommend to buy prior the experience at least 3-4 bags with candies/lollipops, from a supermaket... You will make a lot of children happy.

Great experience - I was able to experience a hidden and real side of Nairobi that an ordinary solo toraveler would not typically be able to access. Although I only had a half-day airport transit in Nairobi, I believe it's more valuable to participate in tours like this and gain new insights rather than staying within the ariport.

Tired but impressed Kibera tour - Each area visited was special and attentive. Especially to the primary school and the powerful women section. Guide even took us to his house and said the large piece of furniture was lowered from the roof. It was really surprising. The people on the way were warm and welcoming, and the guides and bodyguards took care of us and reassured us.

A unique experience - highly recommended - I had a great experience doing this tour with Lucas and his partner and I highly recommend it to see a different side of Nairobi and get a glimpse of what life is like for people living in Kibera. I felt safe and well looked after. The meeting point is at a Shopping mall, it was convenient and safe if you are travelling on your own. Both guides were kind, easy going and generous with information. They explained in advance what we were going to visit and the pace was comfortable. We stopped at a few places where you could see how locals work on various arts and crafts and ask any questions. I did not feel uncomfortable or under pressure to buy anything but of course that is always a welcomed option. We could not pay by card so better take cash with you in case you want to buy something. Lucas adapted to our pace and did not rush the tour, which was 3 hours. We did not get to go inside a home, though. We did visit the school Lucas has created. At the time of our visit it was a school holiday so we did not see it working but as we approached the place lots of children came to greet us and sat inside with us for a bit. On arrival to destination both guides waited with me until my taxi arrived. Overall, it was a very interesting and humbling experience. If you go for it I recommend wearing comfortable closed shoes -the path is often uneven and wet.

Fascinating, interesting and very instructive - I can only highly recommend this tour. Lucas is exceptionally well informed and knowledgeable and can answer any question about Kibeira or Nairobi and Kenya in general. He is friendly, polite and has a nice sense of humour, but most importantly Lucas made me feel comfortable and safe while he navigated us through this strange world. I feel that I have learned a lot and know understand much better how this huge community works and how people live there.
