• Wooden Cask Brewery Company - The tour will commence at the Wooden Cask Brewery, the previous location of the 633 Flamingo Club. Participants will discover its ties to the infamous New York Syndicate and the renowned celebrities who graced its stage!
• eat well celebrations & feasts - The tour will proceed to 518 York Street, the former site of the Yorkshire Club, once one of the largest and most prestigious “carpet club” casinos and possibly the biggest illegal horse racing bookmaking clubs of the 1930s. Attendees will learn about the owner’s conflict with the mafia and the eventual mob takeover of the club.
• Brass Ass Strip Club - The tour will include a view of the exterior of The Brass Ass Gentleman’s Club, which was once the Stardust Casino (the Neon star remains on the building!). Participants will learn about the indictment and conviction of one of Newport’s most infamous mobsters and how prostitution contributed to the local economy.
• Thompson House - The tour will visit the John Thompson house, the residence of the inventor of the Thompson machine gun (“tommy gun”), where participants will learn about how this weapon became a favorite among mobsters in the 1920s and 1930s and its involvement in the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre!
• Gangsters Dueling Piano Bar - The tour will stop at the Gangster’s Dueling Piano Bar, the former site of Glenn Schmidt’s Playtorium, where attendees will learn about the owner’s conflict with the Cleveland Mafia that nearly cost him his life.
• Beverly Hills Supper Club Memorial - The tour will visit the historic marker and Memorial in Southgate, KY, the former site of the Beverly Hills Supper Club, which was the location of the third deadliest nightclub fire in U.S. history. Participants will learn about the club’s troubled history, the owner’s conflict with the Mafia, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding the fire that ultimately destroyed it, resulting in the loss of 165 lives.
