The journey kicks off in the village of Culross, which was transformed into Cranesmuir for the series. Stroll along its cobblestone streets and soak in the atmosphere as you pass by the Mercat Cross (Note: Entry to the Palace is optional and not included).
Next, head to Doune Castle, the impressive fortress that served as the seat of Clan MacKenzie. The audio guide, narrated by Sam Heughan himself, is highly recommended—a delight for every fan!
After a lunch break to refresh, the tour continues to Blackness Castle. This fortress was transformed into Black Jack Randall’s formidable Fort William in the series.
