Awesome tour, I learned so much! - Found out about this house/tour through the TV show Interview With the Vampire and originally wanted to visit the house since the show is set there... and yes, it was very cool to stand in the house where Louis and Lestat lived, but I also learned so much about the history- not just of the house and the family and enslaved people that lived there, but the city as a whole. Our tour guide was wonderful and answered all our questions! We were able to use the bathroom and fill up water bottles while we waited and then we went through almost every room in the house + the courtyard. 10/10 experience!

Don’t Miss this House! - My husband and I found this tour to be one of the best in the city. The house is beautiful with period furniture and accurate furnishings and details according to historic records. Our guide was personable and very knowledgeable on the history of the house and times. Highly recommended. (3/17/2024)

Great tour with a truly excellent guide! - It was a great visit, with a lot to see and learn about the French Quarter architecture and life in the second half of 19th century. As someone who took a lot of tours all over the world, I ought to remark the surprisingly pleasant experience with the house tour guide, Danielle. Even if it was obvious that she narrated the same story to so many visitors before, she succeeded to make us feel that she was there for us, that small group of visitors. Not to mention that the narration itself was very rich in information, well organised and with a well balanced, thoughtful presentation of the family and house, combined with the life of the enslaved people who served the family and the relationship between them. We were the last group that day but Danielle answered very kindly, diligently and patiently all our questions. Something to remember!

Inside the French quarter - It was so interesting to see the interior of this century old home, its period furnishings and so much about life and habits of that generation. Our guide was delightful and very knowledgeable.

Great learning... - Great learning experience. As the original owner was an architect, it was interesting to see how he tried to improve his home with "innovations" from the time. The differences in the enslaved people's quarters versus the owner's family was stark and sobering.

Not recommended - Been once before, and again this month. Wouldn’t go again. I seriously thought about giving only a one star rating. The home is not being maintained as one would expect, both inside and out. Most importantly, the tour guide left a lot to be desired in several ways, manner of presentation, knowledge, which home he thought he was touring…. I would expect more from the home and the guide.

Horrible - I love Nola, with all my heart. But this tour almost took me out. There was so much mold upstairs that I had to leave out. There was mold growing out of the ceiling upstairs. The tour guide seemed to not care that I couldn’t breathe and was about to pass out. I brought to her attention that you could smell the mold once you got to the top of the stairs and that’s dangerous. She just looked at me with this blank stare. Please get the building treated and cleaned before sometime horrible happens.
