Uncover the history of New Orlean’s on a guided excursion to Oak Alley Plantation. Gain knowledge about life on the plantation from your tour guide and witness ancient farming equipment firsthand. Admire the notable and historic 28 oak trees that border the path to the main plantation house. Enjoy the convenience of pick-up from your lodging in New Orleans, and then travel to the Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie for an educational walk around the premises. The plantation earned its name from the row of 28 towering oak trees that lead up to – and are older than the plantation house itself.
Once the plantation tour concludes, we’ll journey to Westwego Louisiana, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience a sit-down lunch (AT OWN COST).
Post lunch, you’ll be taken through the Cajun Swamp and embark on a 90-minute airboat journey. The captains will expertly guide you around the swamp, where you can learn about the ecology of the Louisiana Wetlands, the various swamp inhabitants, and the behavior of the American Alligators. Please note that riders must be at least 48’ tall.
