History and local lore all in one tour! - This was hands down the best tour we’ve taken to learn about the burial practices in New Orleans. We’ve done several cemetery tours and while they were all informative, they were no where near as detailed as this one. Sally’s passion for the subject and her research is apparent throughout the tour and we loved learning about the symbolism and iconography used to create these final resting places. The local lore was also great and she recommended local places which we may have missed otherwise. If you’re deciding between a few cemetery tours, this is the one!

Definitely worth it - This tour is definitely worth taking! My husband wasn’t sure about taking it, but he liked it too. Sally is sooo knowledgeable, and so happy to share what she knows. Our tour ran long because she answered all questions anyone had, and threw in stories that she hadn’t planned on telling. She loves her subject, and it shows. So many interesting things you’d never learn walking around on your own.

Legit NOLA learning experience - Sally is an amazing tour guide. You can tell she really cares about her work. She is a legit researcher, scholar, and author and this shines in a way that is much more thorough than taking a tour with one of the larger "companies" you can find in New Orleans. Tour was about 90 minutes and I learned so much about St Louis #3, and New Orleans culture in general. What an excellent person to get to know as part of my "first time in NOLA" experience!

Fun and Informative - Sally is passionate about cemeteries! And she shared her deep knowledge of burial practices and symbolism of the graves and tombs in St. Louis 3 respectfully and in the context of the larger history of New Orleans. Very kind and patient with questions. Recommend her without reservation.

Knowledgeable and Entertaining - Sally was an extremely knowledgeable guide. She clearly has a passion for the cemeteries of New Orleans. We learned a lot about the burial Traditions of New Orleans and the symbolism used on the tombs as well as stories about individual tombs and the people buried in them. Everything was thoroughly researched and explained in an easy to understand and engaging manner. My husband and I enjoyed this tour so much that we joined her later in the day for a tour of Metairie Cemetery and enjoyed that just as much. Would definitely recommend any tour or lecture she is giving
