Great tour - Excellent tour, saw lots of wildlife - alligators, birds and a very chill owl - and the guide (Nick) was very knowledgable and engaging.

Manchac Swamp Tour w/Nick in July - Nick was an excellent tour guide! He provided us with a safe drive from the French Quarter to Manchac swamp and stopped at a gas station for us to grab snacks and use the restroom before we began kayaking. Once we reached the swamp, he helped explain how to best use the kayak and waited for us if we fell behind. He was very knowledgable about our location and the flora and fauna there. We took the morning tour and it was so peaceful with sightings of Egrets, turtles, and alligators! They were small alligators and so adorable! It was a treat to see them! If you love nature and kayaking, I’d absolutely recommend this tour with Nick. Excellent and memorable experience!

Do it! - Wonderful! I'm not really a city person and while I did enjoy exploring the city vibe of New Orleans and its rich culture, kayaking the Manchac Swamp was the highlight of our visit! Nick was our guide and was super at pointing out the flora and fauna! We saw the usual assortment of birds with some extra special sightings of spoonbills, anhingas, ibis, and a young family of black vultures just about ready to fledge. The tour starts out by a rather loud highway but a short paddle takes you the silence of the swamp. Surprisingly, though it was indeed a hot day, there was a nice breeze on the water and the most amazing thing was zero mosquitos (thank you some little minnow-y fish that eats all the mosquito larva!)

Excellent kayaking trip with wildlife encounters and knowledgable guide - This was excellent in every way. Beautiful scenery, birds and other wildlife. It was also much more relaxing than I was expecting. Our guide, Nick, really made it special. His passion and knowledge for the local wildlife, the environment and conservation were sincere, and he took care of everybody in our group.

Awesome experience - The tour guide was amazing and knew so much about the swamp. If you are not an experienced kayaker I would not recommend this tour. Bring bug spray

MJ makes an already great tour magical - Terrific tour with a terrific tour guide, MJ. She is a Master Naturalist. She knows everything about everything. Very friendly and accommodating and also entertaining. She is passionate about her subject and shows it. Ask her a question and she has not only the answer, but the reason behind the answer, and the history behind it, and the reason the answer used to be different, and the current research on the answer. Don't worry about alligators, they are small and don't eat us. The tour itself is the best thing I've done in New Orleans so far. It's so beautiful out there. I'm going to try to get out again for the five hour tour. (I am a real person. Not a made up review.)

Beautiful swamp tour - Our guide Nick was very knowledgeable and led us into narrow side channels off the main bayous and canals where we could really experience the beauty and sounds of the swamp. We saw alligators, juvenile and adult owls, fledgeling herons in a nest, turtles, beautiful cedar trees hanging with moss and giant lotus pads. The tour was everything we had hoped for!

Could be a good... - Could be a good experience for someone able to keep pace with the guide. For our family it was hard, and barely got to see the tour guide few times over the course of 2.5 hrs on the swamps. The swamp itself is beautiful and could be a so much better experience if the guide takes everybody along. We mostly got the last few bits of stories and information shared at different spots.
