fantastic tour with lots of local information new and historic - this tour took us around the district and gave us both history and local insight on how NO has evolved. So interesting to listen to the way politics has shaped the city and how the traditions and celebrations continue today. certainly made the rest of our trip fun using the info. Sarah IS AMAZING. GO on THIS TOUR - Sarah was our guide. She is Incredible! She has a background in teaching and she is so very dynamic. She kept us engaged in the history of the Lafayette Cemetery 1, what families are buried there, why the plots are designed the way they are and the social context the location is in history. We walked the garden district. It was fascinating to hear stories about how various nationalities settled in various parts of New Orleans, families who lived in various homes from the past to present. The architecture, authors’ homes, a famous football player, a famous actress. Historical slave owners and their comments about slavery. We also learned about what we saw on the sidewalk and why. Which houses were used in popular film, why, the significance to the city. She put context to everything. There wasn’t a question she couldn’t answer. Sarah is Amazing! Go on the tour! You will be so happy you did, money very well spent.
