Incredible and rewarding experience - I cannot recommend this tour enough. I found it both an eye-opening experience, and one that filled me with hope! As a teacher from the UK, I massively admired the emphasis that this tour places on education, with 80% of your tour fee being used on the education provision that the NGO provides in the colony. My tour guide Sam, could not have been more accommodating as well as passionate about the work he does, and he instantly put me at ease. He has made it his mission to build up positive relationships with the locals here, and it shows with amazing interactions. This must be top of your list when visiting Delhi. You see a completely new side to India, whilst also helping out an excellent organisation doing important work.

Do Not Miss the Informative, Enlightening Tour of the Sanjay Colony - The tour of Sanjay Colony was an extraordinary and uplifting experience. Our guide, Sam, gave us an in-depth view of what it was like to grow up and live in Sanjay Colony. We gained a deep understanding about the development of industry in Sanjay Colony and how it has been transformed from jungle to a thriving, but poor, community. Sam's English was terrific. And the tour gave us a behind-the-scenes look at Delhi that we never would have the chance to see without it. Don't miss this experience during your visit to Delhi.

I needn't have worried - I would not have considered doing a slum tour prior to our visit to India, and our guide, Vijay, only convinced us on our return to Delhi towards the end of our trip. I worried that it was exploitative, or that it would be like a safari of poverty for Western travellers. But I had that pre-conception turned on its head. Vijay grew up in the Sanjay Colony slum and was proud and excited to show us his childhood home. He presented a balanced an informative view of the way that the slum functioned, and how people built their lives with limited means. While the tour itself was not intrusive, people were very happy to see us and even invited us into their homes. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

Great way to start a trip to India - We started our trip in India with the Sanjay Colony Tour and we are so grateful. It provided great insight and meaning into the lives of Indians living in Slums as well as those outside. So many of our questions were answered with great knowledge by our guide. From understanding the impact of fast fashion on locals to the basics of living, such as washing and sleeping. It was also reassuring to see the tour company were particularly concerned about the welfare and perceptions of those living within Sanjay and their proud contribution to educating children. We recommended this tour to a number of people we met in India during our travels.

A great experience - Ajay was the tour guide. As a former resident of the colony, Ajay was able to provide first-hand and insightful commentary on the Sanjay Colony. This included details about living and lifestyle conditions, local businesses, places of worship and schooling for children. It's also nice that a percentage of the tour price is reinvested for local projects. A thoroughly worthwhile tour for visitors to India.

Sanjay Slum Tour with Dolly - We chose to tour the Slum of Sanjay following some tips on the internet. We were very pleased with the tour and Dolly, our Guide. The tour really opens your mind by offering you many insights into real life in Delhi's slums. Dolly was very exhaustive in her explanations responding to any of our curiosity. Walking with her (and certainly with the other guides) you are safe; in a neighborhood so poor but where people have a lot of dignity and respect.

Worth a visit - The tour was great and Dolly was super informative and astute. It was to the point and well timed giving an insight into what life was like currently and prior to basic services being introduced into the area. It is also completely safe so don't be put off by the word *slum*. I also liked the fact the tour contributes to schooling etc in the area. What is fails to mention is that you make your own way back via uber or train. I took the train but was assisted as far as the return platform and ubers are inexpensive.
