Wonderful experience at Taj Mahal - Our Tour Guide, Mr Malek is a very knowledgeable and interesting gentleman who knows the history and the background of the Taj Mahal. We have a wonderful time under his care and would definitely come again to Taj Mahal for the full Moon experience .

Excellent tour of the Golden Triangle. - The tour was a very enjoyable experience made a little uncomfortable by the season temperatures in the low 100's F/40 C. Tour hit the highlights of the Golden Triangle with local tour guides in each city and a dedicated driver in an air conditioned car for the entirety of the tour. Ankit in Delhi was young, but very knowledgeable and friendly, and very open to our questions about Indian culture and practices with details from his own family and private life. No artisan or merchant stop in Delhi (more later). Malik in Agra was our guide to the Taj Mahal and Red Fort. Again he was very informative, and his expertise and experience showed in all the details he was able to share about the sites and the great photos he took of our visit. Varun in Jayapur was likewise very knowledgeable and friendly in guiding us to the impressive Amber Fort and Jantar Mantar. Again, lots of information and excellent photo stops and views. We were dragging at that point from the heat, so Varun was very flexible regarding our tour options. Now we understand the how and why of stopping at various artisan and merchant shops is part of these tours, and we enjoyed the stop in Agra to see how the marble inlaid with precious stones was done in the Taj Mahal. However, multiple stops in each city was slightly aggravating, and we had to say a hard "No" at our last city. Even though they tell you "No pressure to buy", it is a hard sell and not a pleasant experience. Not sure this will change, so you have to be firm if you don't want to experience any/all of these types of stops. Our driver for the entire tour, Vikram, was Excellent! He was punctual every morning, a careful driver especially with the very poor road conditions in some areas as well as the "interesting" traffic in India, ready with cold water, and even fixing shade for us in the car with his scarf when the sun beat down. Waiting at all the stops for hours and then driving 3-5 hours to the next city was not easy, but Vikram did an excellent job. The hotels in the 5-star package were excellent. The tour even changed one of our hotels due to large weddings at the original option causing some disruptions for other tour groups. Apparently, our tour dates were an auspicious time for weddings, so there were weddings at the new hotel as well. It was not too much of a problem. In summary, we enjoyed our tour of the Golden Triangle. The Taj Mahal was of course the highlight of the trip, especially at dawn, but the other sites we were unfamiliar with were an unexpected surprise.

An incredible India tour - We were a group of 8 that went on a tour of Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur, Agra and Delhi. Everything was coordinated very well from the time of booking the tour up until our departure. I found Ashish Gupta, the tour operator through all the 5 star reviews that I read about Perfect Agra Tours. He was very responsive, flexible, and accommodating. Ashish is a friendly and energetic young man who makes sure that everything is going well on the tour. He also served as our tour guide and escort from Udaipur to Delhi. We visited beautiful historical and cultural sites and also managed to squeeze in some shopping at the bazaars and at handicraft and clothing stores where members of the group had clothes tailored. It was my birthday when we arrived Udaipur. Ashish greeted us with beautiful leis and gave me a bouquet of yellow roses. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a birthday cake waiting for us. He also provided soft drinks that we liked on the bus. He took our photos and he turned out to be a good photographer as well. Our hotels were all 5 star hotels with the exception of one. Nevertheless, the service was all good in these hotels and the Indian staff were mostly friendly and helpful. This tour served as an eye opener about the people and their culture. All in all, everyone in the group felt very pleased with this incredible tour which was very reasonably priced as well. But one cannot forget the effort of Ashish in customizing the tour to ensure his clients are satisfied and happy. We all highly recommend Perfect Agra Tours for your India Tour.

MUST READ REVIEW .... - The tour covers most of the key attractions (not all advertised), so it’s important to do your own research to avoid missing anything important to you. The driver remains the same, but tour guides change in each city. The overall organisation was good, but the quality of guides varied significantly. ⸻ Driver – Mr. Gopal Mr. Gopal was exceptional. He was friendly, flexible with our requests, and very accommodating with adjustments to the itinerary. He was one of the strongest positives of the entire trip. ⸻ Day 1 – Delhi Unfortunately, the Delhi experience was disappointing. • The guide skipped three major attractions listed in the itinerary: Qutub Minar, Parliament House, and Rashtrapati Bhavan, blaming road traffic. • Instead, we visited Raj Ghat (Gandhi Memorial), which was not part of the itinerary. It was a nice visit, but replacing three scheduled highlights with one unplanned stop felt unbalanced. • The guide was not very engaging. The information provided was basic, and we were often left to explore sites on our own. ⸻ Day 2 – Agra (Mr. Malik) Mr. Malik was friendly, punctual, and a very good photographer. His coverage of the Taj Mahal was good. However, there were several issues: • We were given the option to see Agra Fort from inside or outside. Not knowing the difference, we chose outside — which turned out to be a mistake. We essentially just passed by it in the car and saw nothing beyond the outer wall. • We were taken to a marble workshop and a gem shop. Both felt like commission-based tourist traps rather than cultural stops. Shopkeepers insisted purchases were optional, but there was clear pressure to buy. • Time spent in these shops could have been better used visiting Agra Fort properly. The most uncomfortable moment was when Mr. Malik asked for my phone, opened my Viator app, gave himself a 5-star rating, and asked me to write a positive review so he could secure future work. I refused. This incident makes me question the authenticity of some of the 5-star reviews. ⸻ Day 3 – Jaipur The Jaipur guide was engaging, informative, and covered all itinerary items except one that we personally chose to skip. However: • We were again taken to a textile shop, which appeared commission-based. When we declined to buy anything, the guide questioned our decision and tried to redirect us to a gem shop. • For lunch, we were taken to a restaurant with poor Google reviews and mostly tourist customers, which suggested another commission-based recommendation. One of the two dishes we ordered contained raw, uncooked chicken and had to be returned. The restaurant owner apologised. ⸻ Final Thoughts The tour itself is generally well organised and covers most of the major highlights, although some of the very top attractions were either not included or missed. The driver was excellent. However, the experience is heavily dependent on the individual guide. It was disappointing that instead of protecting tourists from obvious tourist traps, some guides seemed motivated by commission-based stops. It felt similar to paying for a premium service and still being shown advertisements.

One of very few honest reviews (guests are strongly pressured to leave positive reviews during the tour) - Negatives: - The operator requested an additional USD 120 surcharge for an SUV vehicle. - The driver had the flu throughout the entire trip. He was visibly exhausted and his driving was poor, often driving extremely slowly on highways. A journey that should have taken approximately 4 hours ended up taking nearly 6 hours. And even after we pointed out that, according to Google Maps, he was taking a route that was about 45 minutes slower, he insisted that this was not true. - Despite Mr. Gupta (the owner of the tour company) explicitly promising in writing that the itinerary would be fully dependent on our preferences, this was not respected. The driver followed a predefined itinerary, refused to modify it, and completely disregarded the itinerary confirmed by Mr. Gupta. This predefined itinerary wasted a significant amount of time on tourist traps, leaving insufficient time for actual sightseeing. - When I asked the driver to take us to the agreed attraction, the Tomb of Akbar, he refused, stating that it was too far away and out of the way, despite it being part of the confirmed itinerary. - The driver and guides repeatedly forced us to visit overpriced tourist traps (souvenirs, pashmina, jewellery, and marble shops) and insisted that we eat only at restaurants selected by them, despite us clearly stating multiple times that we wanted to choose our own restaurants. When we refused, the driver made angry comments in Hindi. What was particularly surprising was that after the trip, he still asked us for a tip, and when we refused and left, he even called me on the phone. - Because the driver altered the agreed itinerary and claimed that an 8:00 a.m. hotel pickup was too early for him, we missed two lunches. We were told we had to choose either lunch or sightseeing, which was completely unacceptable. Also, it is worth noting that despite this being advertised as a private luxury tour with a driver, the driver only worked 8 hours per day. When we asked him to take us to dinner, he refused, and we had to take a taxi from and to hotel on two occasions. - And last but not least, the guide pressured us to leave a five-star review directly at the Taj Mahal, claiming that if we did not do so, he would not receive his next assignment as a guide. Positives: - The five-star hotels included in the tour were good. - Car was clean and comfortable. - Sights in Agra and Jaipur were wonderful. - Guides and driver are still recommended by us as they made sure our sightseeing was secure.
