A day well spent with the sweetest family around! - I just got back home and HAD to write this review because I had the most wonderful time with this family! These are probably some of the sweetest people I've met in a long time, and I was moved by the love and warmth that fills their home. Marjan picked us up and accompanied us to their home, where the experience began with a cup of tea and some informal, easygoing chats; the kind of random, relaxed conversations you'd have with friends. Marjan is so easy to talk to, you immediately feel like you've known her for a long time. After this came the lunch, which was an absolute feast! As someone who was up till now, unfamiliar with Afghan and Persian cuisine, this was a delightful culinary adventure. Over lunch, we had the chance to chat with the entire family. Their positivity, play-fullness and love for each other was beautiful, and they truly made us feel included. Zareen is the cutest person ever and her husband is so so much fun to talk to. Despite the hardships they have faced, and continue to face as refugees, his love for India was infectious, and I’m already looking forward to exploring his favorite spots in Delhi with him someday haha. Our conversations were rocking seamlessly back and forth between serious topics and lighthearted banter, and before we knew it, the time had slipped away! After dinner, Marjan showed us around the neighborhood. We explored local shops run by Afghans and visited two local libraries containing Farsi literature. This short trip was so much fun and I would love to hangout again! Thank you for your hospitality and kindness, and thank you for such a beautiful day!

Beautiful experience - It was an incredible experience to enjoy the delicious home-cooked meal by Zareen and immerse myself in a beautiful new culture and lifestyle. The Kabouli was absolutely exceptional, and all the vegetarian dishes were clearly prepared with love and care. I truly felt at home, warmly welcomed as part of the family. Marjan was wonderfully attentive, taking the time to answer all my questions and translating my words to her mother, making the evening even more personal and memorable.

Authentic Afghani food with fantastic host in Delhi - I had the chance to experience Delhi Daily Life's amazing Afghan meal. Zareen, Fara, and their family welcomed us with heartwarming smiles and traditional customs. We spoke about their life-changing experience of moving to a new country, how they adapted to difficult circumstances, and how the current situation in their home country has affected them. As we engaged in these eye-opening conversations, we also watched Zareen in action, demonstrating how she prepares Afghan dishes. She explained the influence of various spices in balancing the flavours of their curries and the proper use of saffron. She even accommodated my dietary requirements, preparing vegan dishes like Kabuli Palao, Banya (Bhindi) and Lobia (Rajma) along with very local Afghani Salad. By the end of our meal, my stomach was full, but my heart wanted more. I highly recommend trying out Authentic Afghan Meal with Zareen and her family for a delicious and authentic meal, along with an amazing time, laughter, and endless conversations.

A taste of Afghan culture in Delhi - Afghan food is one of my favorites, especially the Borani Banjan with Lobia. Being vegetarian and requesting only vegetarian dishes was a change I really enjoyed, knowing that Afghan cuisine is typically non-vegetarian, but Zareen made it possible. Marjan explained the cooking process to us in detail, and we had a great conversation, gaining a deeper understanding of Afghan culture in India. It's amazing to learn that there's a mini Kabul in Delhi, and I think you can experience it through Zareen's delicious food.
