Manikarnika Ghat - Then proceed to Manikarnika Ghat to witness the perpetual cremations that occur there. Hindus believe that Manikarnika Ghat is one of the most auspicious places for the departed to achieve moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth). The funeral pyre at this ghat burns 24 hours a day, with around 100 cremations taking place daily.

Visit Sarnath from Varanasi (20 KM/30 mins).
Sarnath - Visit Sarnath, located 18 kilometers northeast of Varanasi near the Ganges and Varuna rivers in Uttar Pradesh, India. The deer park in Sarnath is where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dhamma and where the Buddhist Sangha came into existence through the enlightenment of Kondanna.
Dhamek Stupa - Then visit the Dhamek Stupa, situated 12 kilometers away in the village of Sarnath. The Dhamek Stupa is a massive stone and brick structure, 43.6 meters tall and 28 meters in diameter. It was built over 1,500 years ago to replace a structure dating back to 249 BCE.
Ganga Aarti - Return to Varanasi and witness the famous Ganga Aarti. Consider waking up early for a sunrise cruise along the river — negotiate with one of the many boatmen along the ghats.

Varanasi To Kushinagar (240 KM/5 Hrs).
Kushinagar - After breakfast, depart Varanasi for Kushinagar, one of the four sacred places associated with Lord Buddha. Buddha delivered his last sermon, attained Mahaparinirvana (salvation) in 483 BC, and was cremated at Rambhar Stupa. The reclining nirvana statue of Lord Buddha inside the temple is 6.10 meters long and made of 5th-century red sandstone.

Raj Ghat - Stop by Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, located in Delhi. It features a black marble platform open to the sky with an eternal flame burning at one end. It is an excellent place to learn more about the country’s history.
Chandni Chowk - Take a traditional rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, the oldest and busiest market in New Delhi. Chandni Chowk, meaning “Moonlight Square,” was built by a Mughal Emperor in the 17th century. It was divided by canals to reflect moonlight, but that area is now closed. It is one of the largest wholesale markets in India.

Humayun’s Tomb - Then proceed to Humayun’s Tomb, the tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun’s first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1558, and designed by Persian architects Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad.
Connaught Place - Visit Connaught Place, a bustling business and financial hub centered on a ring of colonnaded Georgian-style buildings with global chain stores, vintage cinemas, bars, and Indian restaurants. Stalls at Janpath Market sell saris, embroidered bags, and trinkets.
