Negombo Beach - AYUBOWAN! Welcome to Sri Lanka, a land like no other, offering 12 days of exploration. This journey provides the chance to experience UNESCO World Heritage sites, the unique Sri Lankan culture, lush green tea estates, waterfalls in the hills, wildlife, thrilling adventures, and beautiful, remote sandy beaches. Upon arrival at Colombo CMB Airport, the tour leader will meet and greet you, then transfer you to your hotel. The first stop is the coastal town of Negombo, renowned as Sri Lanka’s most popular beach, famous for its golden sands, food, and entertainment. No activities are planned for the first day, allowing you to relax at Negombo beach or by your hotel’s pool. In the evening, enjoy a stroll along the seashore, taking in the beautiful sunset and the pleasant atmosphere of Negombo beach.

ANURADHAPURA ANCIENT CITY TOUR
Anuradhapura - After a delicious breakfast with a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or coffee, enjoy a drive through the beautiful countryside to the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Sri Lanka boasts a rich heritage, and Anuradhapura is one of the world’s greatest and oldest civilizations. It was the first capital, ruled by 113 kings for over 1000 years. The jewel in its crown is the Sri Maha Bodhi, the sacred tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, standing proudly for over 2200 years. A main attraction in Anuradhapura is Ruwanweliseya, a monument built in 140 BC, embodying the culture, heritage, and supremacy of the strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history.

SIGIRIYA LION ROCK / CULTURAL VILLAGE TOUR
Habarana Lake - After breakfast, embark on a wonderful journey across the stunning Sri Lankan countryside towards Dambulla city, the central point of the island’s cultural triangle. Upon arrival in Dambulla, enjoy a cultural village tour while exploring the beautiful countryside (INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE). The tour begins with a Bullock Cart ride, one of Sri Lanka’s most ancient and primary transportation systems, still used in some villages. During the tour, enjoy a canoeing boat ride across the lake and a pleasant TukTuk ride before reaching the farmer’s house, where you will experience typical Sri Lankan countryside hospitality.
Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - In the afternoon, visit Sigiriya Lion Rock, capturing the beautiful scenery of the evening sunset. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress near Dambulla, built by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 BC) as his kingdom. He constructed his palace atop this rock and adorned its sides with colorful frescoes. Sigiriya is now a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and one of the best-preserved examples of ancient architecture. To reach the top, climb a series of vertiginous staircases, passing remarkable frescoes and colossal lion paws carved into the bedrock.

CAVE TEMPLE / SPICE GARDEN / HISTORICAL KANDY CITY
Golden Temple of Dambulla - In the morning, after breakfast, visit Dambulla Cave Temple. Dambulla boasts the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. The rock towers 160 meters over the surrounding plains and houses 5 cave temples with unique and significant historical drawings. The murals cover an area of 2100 square meters, depicting the temptation of the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Proceed to Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. Set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests, Kandy is famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Other main attractions include the Royal Botanical Garden, Bahirawa Kanda viewpoint, the fruit and vegetable market, the lake, and the city center.

Royal Botanical Gardens - After breakfast, visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden, one of Asia’s best botanical gardens. Stop at Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya, attracting 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its orchid collection and includes over 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees, covering 147 acres.
Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - Then, enjoy a drive towards Nuwara Eliya. While driving through the cold, misty hills with lush green tea plantations, stop at a tea factory to observe the rich tradition of making Ceylon Tea, kept alive to this day. Nuwara Eliya - Often referred to as “Little England,” Nuwara Eliya retains many buildings from the British colonial period, such as the Queen’s Cottage, the General’s House, the Grand Hotel, the Hill Club, and the Town Post Office. Located in the mountains, it enjoys a cool climate year-round. In the afternoon, walk through Nuwara Eliya city center and the fruit and vegetable market. Try some snacks along lanes filled with street foods and bustling local eateries.

Nine Arches Bridge - In the morning, enjoy a spectacular journey from Nanu-oya station to Ella village (the train ride is granted, but seats are subject to availability as they can’t be pre-booked). Known as one of the most picturesque hill country train journeys in the world, Ella is a favorite hill country village due to its wonderful nature-friendly location. Visit Nine Arch Bridge, a massive bridge built entirely of solid rocks, bricks, and cement without using a single piece of steel, commissioned in 1921.
Udawalawe National Park - In the afternoon, your tour leader will take you to Udawalawe National Park for a 4x4 Jeep safari, the best time to spot wild elephants in their natural habitat. If you’re up for a serious jungle adventure, Udawalawe is your ideal destination! Spanning 8800 hectares, this park is mainly a sanctuary for elephants. Watching baby elephants play in the water at the park’s centerpiece lake is always a delight. This place is known as the largest elephant gathering spot in the world.
