Good value for money if you just want a car and driver for your big group - Good value for money tour. English-speaking driver was non-Japanese however knows conversational Japanese to be a competent enough driver. He was a punctual and careful driver and knew the routes quite well. However, some notes to the tour management and future bookers of this tour: - Our driver was Muslim which limited our lunch location as I think he took us to the part of Lake Kawaguchiko where there was a guaranteed halal restaurant. However, there were not many good restaurant choices for us to sample good, authentic Japanese cuisine as the town had only 1 ramen restaurant, a Korean place, a pizza place and a gift shop. So we had to wait to move to the next stop to get something to eat. - We never made it to Oshino Hakanai and Gotemba as planned since the we would go beyond the 10-hr tour with additional hour clocking in at a hefty US$100 per hour. - The driver is just a driver, not a tour guide, so don't expect knowledgeable commentary on historical facts, local culture, etc. especially as he himself is also a foreigner. We did stumble upon a local festival with a food market so that's where we got our 'local' Japanese food and we were grateful our driver was flexible and warned us against overpaying for parking. Overall a good enough tour if you want to hit the highlights.
