FANTASTIC Safari and Guide !!! - There are not enough fantastic, and amazing words to describe our Hyrax Safari. Our guide Sammy was informative, educational and he was ALWAYS in the right place at the right time. His knowledge of each animal's habits, habitat, life journey and their interaction with the other animals was very in-depth. He answered all of our questions and more. If and when I return to Masai Mara Reserve with my grandchildren I will absolutely use Hyrax Safaris and request Sammy as my guide. He went above and beyond to make the experience educational and memorable. He's FANTASTIC !! Here are only a few pics of the animals we saw.

Best time in Safari - Our 4 day Masai Mara Safari was perfect! We were also in Naivasha and Nakuru. 3 so different but all amazing places. Both accomodations on our Safari were great, camping had really good food. All the staff was very kind and helpful. Our driver Jim knows the best spots and he was really trying hard to see as much as we can. With him was also guy on induction, he was very friendly and all of the time with us.

Efficient company, fantastic guide - Normally, when I travel I do a fair amount of research into my destination and options. I added 3 days in Masai Mara onto a trip primarily to climb Mt. Kenya. I picked Hyrax rather randomly. I was not at all disappointed. I chose to go my Jeep from Nairobi and return by plane. I highly recommend driving one direction (6 hours) as it allows you to see the Rif Valley and rural Kenyan towns. My guide, Kwaheri was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable about the history of the area and once in the park, knew every twist and turn. In two full days, I saw countless animals but equally important great vistas of the river and plaines. I was by myself, which allowed for great flexibility. Plane tickets and lodge reservations were all taken care of in an efficient manner. I would absolutely consider booking with Hyrax in the future.

Hyrax Safaris worked with us to create an amazing itinerary! It was a perfect blend and mixture of adventure, relaxation and cultural immersion. We traveled to several destinations and each of the accommodations and excursions were fabulous. The safari was outstanding and breathtaking! The tour guides (Tony and Joshua) were extremely knowledgeable about the destinations we visited; they offered insightful information about the local culture, wildlife, and history. Hyrax - professional service and great communication. - Pre-travel: I researched on Google and Safaribookings before planning my trip. After reviewing many options, I chose Hyrax, and it was a fantastic decision! Shout out to Irene! She provided prompt responses, customized planning, and thorough care, answering all my travel questions. It was great to have WhatsApp for communication. Safari: Brian, our safari guide, was very knowledgeable about the landscape and super friendly. We were lucky to have Edwin, an amazing and down-to-earth safari guide, join us. I stayed at the Ashnil Mara Camp, which was excellent! Brian and Edwin shared fascinating insights about the animals and their behaviors, taking great care of us throughout the tour. Everything was professionally handled! Travel tips: 1. It is very safe. I had some nerves seeing photos on Google and being in an open Land Cruiser in the jungle, but as long as you stay inside the van and follow your guide's directions, it is very safe! 2. Always go with a trusted travel agency. If it's your first time, I highly recommend Hyrax. You'll receive professional advice with no hidden costs.

Amazing trip with Hyrax! Thank you Roselyn, Tony & team. - First, visit Kenya and the warm inviting Kenyans. Second, choose Hyrax when you go. We wanted to use a local tour company and were recommended to Hyrax by a friend from the US. Roselyn, Tony and the team of drivers and guides were very experienced, professional, knowledgeable, fun and easy to relate to. Roselyn planned/arranged our 2 week itinerary, which included Masaai Mara for safari, Nakuru National Park, Lake Naivasha, and Diani Beach. We also spent a few days at the start and end of our trip in Nairobi. Our travels from place to place were seamless and safe. Hyrax’s safari jeep was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Our group had some change requests during planning and after arrival and Roselyn was responsive and accommodating. She was also very accessible during our visit and easily reachable via phone or text. We chose the luxury accommodation package, that included drivers and guides for each leg of our trip (including airport pickup and drop off). We stayed at places that exceeded our expectations. Ashnil Mara Camp and Swahili Resort at Diani Beach were particularly breath-taking with superb service. We also had very good stays at the hotels in Nairobi where hotel staff was very helpful and welcoming Tony, our safari driver, made our safari memorable and fun. Every day of safari was amazing. We observed other drivers and he was simply the best out there! Tony knows his way around the parks and is extremely knowledgeable about the animals (from the Big 5 to individual bird species). He also has a keen ability to spot and get safely positioned for the best views and photographs of the animals. We captured phenomenal pictures and videos. While on safari, we decided to do a balloon ride and Tony quickly connected us with a top notch company that he trusted. We also got to discover his “quiet humor”. Our guided tours of beautiful Nairobi were very enriching and well organized. We learned so much about Kenya’s history and current culture. I’ve recommended Hyrax to friends and family and highly recommend them to anyone traveling to Kenya. The experience with them, end-to-end, was wonderful.

Amazing tour - The safari tour with Ben was absolutely wonderful. He is an excellent driver, navigating the rough roads safely. Even when issues arose, he handled them skillfully and provided alternative solutions. Thanks to him, we were able to see so many animals. We are truly grateful.

Amazing Kenyan Safaris' - We got a complete experience of the wild life and the scenic beauty of Kenyan Savannahs through the 6 day tour package arranged through Hyrax. Hyrax guides' Antony and Ben did a great job assuring an overwhelming experience for us, making us acquainted with the wild beauties like giraffe, zebras, elephants, imbalas, topis', crested cranes, flamingos, Pelicans etc etc and also the ferocious ones like cheetahs, rhinos, hippos including all in big 5s. Nevertheless to say, we had some adventurous moments in the trip making it more enjoyable and were fortunate to see almost every animal inspite the fact it is not the ideal tourist season. The accommodations arranged had such a great ambience complimenting with the wilderness of the forest reserves and the food served were healthy and delicious. Only issue we had was non availability of WiFi in our rooms in 2 of the 3 accomodations we had. As we got to see almost every animal from Marsa Marai, Nakuru and Lake Naivasu, personally I am of the opinion that it is not worth to have another 6 to 8 hours of drive to visit Amboseli park, where we see almost the same habitat, especially if you are planning for 4 or 5 days trip. Amazing experience!!! - It was an excellent experience. The safari was fantastic, Samy our driver, went out of his way to try to find our favorite animals... , with detail explanations. We highly recommend it. The lodge was also fantastic, very nice in the middle of the park. I also recommend Emma from Hyrax who from the very start was very patient and helpful giving me different options and explaining the pros and cons.

An Unforgettable African Adventure - I was a bit hesitant about booking through Safari Bookings rather than a local travel agent, but it turned out to be a great choice. Choosing a private tour with a 4x4 vehicle made our experience even better, allowing us to get up close to the action. During our safari, we saw all the animals we hoped for, enjoyed the stunning natural landscapes, and experienced so much more. Masai Mara was a highlight with its rich wildlife, while Lake Nakuru offered beautiful scenery, though fewer animals. The only minor issues were a visit to a Masai Mara village that felt a bit too touristy and a short delay in getting into Lake Nakuru. Despite that, Emma and Benny were fantastic, making sure our safari was unforgettable. If you're dreaming of an African safari that covers great nature, all the famous animals, and more, I highly recommend Hyrax Safaris.
