Full Day Game Drive in the Mara
Mara River - Spend the entire day exploring the Maasai Mara in search of the Big Five animals. Guests will enjoy picnic lunches in the Reserve while admiring the Mara’s beauty. The Mara River is home to resident hippos and Nile crocodiles all year round. Few places boast a higher concentration of wildlife than the Masai Mara, and sightings of four of the Big Five are almost guaranteed on any trip (though rhinos are more elusive). The Mara is also one of the world’s best reserves for spotting the three big cats: leopard, lion, and cheetah. It’s no surprise that the BBC TV show Big Cat Diaries is filmed here.
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Guests will experience a full day game drive in what is considered the best safari destination in the world by World Travel Magazine. The Masai Mara Reserve is Kenya’s most popular tourist destination, located in the Great Rift Valley, primarily in open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment, making it the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Visitors are almost certain to spot the Big Five. The phenomenal wildebeest migration is a spectacular event unique to the Maasai Mara.
Mara to Nairobi
Mara River - After an early morning breakfast, guests will check out and visit the Maasai Village before beginning the drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, they will be dropped off at the city center or their hotel within the city center. There will be no game drive on this final day.
Ololaimutiek - This is the local area where guests are staying in the Masai Mara. On this day, they have the option to visit the Maasai tribe to learn more about their culture and lifestyle for an additional cost of USD 20 per person. The Maasai will warmly welcome guests to their small huts and demonstrate how they care for their animals and light fires.
