- Nara Station - Our meeting spot is JR Nara Station. You will find our guide in front of the ticket gates. There is only one location for ticket gates at JR Nara Station. So just come out, and find our guide with a white NaraWalk flag.\nNote: If you find ticket gates at underground level, you are at Kintetsu Nara Station which is a station about 15 min. away on foot from JR Nara Station.\n- Todai-ji Temple - We visit the Great Buddha Hall to meet the Big Buddha. The guide will tell you stories behind the Big Buddha statue and the temple. It’s a picture spot.\n- Nara Park - Our destinations, Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and Kofukuji Temple - it’s not wrong to say all of them are in the Nara Park. Depending on the season and speed of the group, we may add more spots from the Nara Park.\n- Kofuku-ji Temple - We usually end the tour at this temple. The five-storied pagoda is photogenic. After informing you with history, we are happy to give you direction for train stations, afternoon plans, and a lunch.\n(During June to September, when heatstroke is a concern, we may only visit Kasuga Grand Shrine, Nara Park and Todaiji Temple. If the temperature permits we may go to Kofukuji Temple.)\n- Kasuga Grand Shrine - Walk the precinct with the guide and most likely you can spot deer here and there. Find out why deer are freely roaming in Nara, the difference between Shinto and Buddhism and so on.

Please note that this is not a private experience, but a group tour involving multiple guests.
We value punctuality and do not await latecomers. In case you fail to appear on time at the designated spot, regrettably, you won’t be able to participate in the tour.
- The tour route includes steps and a gravel path where you would need to carry or need a harder push for your baby stroller.
- If you are arriving at Kintetsu Nara Station, please come to JR Nara Station. We cannot meet or pick you up at Kintetsu Nara Station, since this is not a private tour. We take a bus from JR Nara Station, and we do not stop at Kintetsu Nara Station.
- The tour starts punctually. As this is a group tour, we do not wait for those who cannot or does not appear on time at the meeting spot. If you arrive late, unfortunately you cannot join the tour.

Nara park feedback - This was a wonderful experience! Kazu was fantastic at explaining the history and did so very professionally! You can choose to do this on your own, I think it’s nice to do a guided tour to learn more of the culture/ religion.
I have already thanked Kazu, our guide personally, she was truly the best!!! The park in general was amazing!!! This is an absolute must when visiting Japan!!

Narvana - We had a great day visiting Nara , the guide and her assistant were very informative and friendly and did a fabulous job . The deer are everywhere, they even go in the shops but be careful as the males can get a bit frisky

A compact but perfectly paced tour of Nara park with a very knowledgeable guide. - Our tour of Nara was fabulous and our guide was very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain things to us and take us to parts of the park that were less busy but equally wonderful. The tour was at a great pace with plenty of time to take everything in.

Nara Walking Tour (Highly Recommended) - Love this tour! The walk includes a bus ride to Nara Park and visits to the temple. You get to see many deers throughout the entire park which is the most attractive activity for many tourists! Go feed the deers but be watchful of the male ones with the antler as they can attack if felt threaten although they look demure.
The tour also includes a visit to the Great Buddha Hall! A must visit attraction! Make an attempt to squeeze through the pillar’s hole of 37cm X 30cm X 110cm for good health and for protection against bad luck!

Making the most of your visit to Nara Park - We had booked the 3h Nara Park Walk Tour and got lucky: it was only the four of us (me and my friends), so we basically got a private tour guided by Sachiko.
Even though it was scorchingly hot that day, we had an amazing time! Sachiko was super knowledgeable of the area, knew all about the shrines and also shared about Shinto traditions with us. We now know where to go and how to pray for what we wish for - from praying for peace and for good health, to getting pregnant or even getting into Harvard 😄 Sachiko will sort you out for sure!
Sachiko also knew all the best places for taking pictures and took group pictures of us as well, which was so nice!
She also knew the best place for feeding deer and took us to the best sites in Nara Park (incl. the big Buddha of course).
I strongly recommend you take this tour - it‘ll help you make the most of your time in Nara park, you’ll see a lot of amazing sites and will learn some fun facts as well.

A highlight of our stay in Nara - Our 3-hour tour of Nara was a wonderful experience, despite the intense heat. Our guide, Reiko, took good care of our whole group with great kindness. We learned a lot about the history of Nara and the religions of Japan. I highly recommend this tour!
