Hell’s Gate National Park - 7am - Depart from Nairobi and begin the drive to Naivasha, with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint.
Arrive at Hell’s Gate entrance around 9:30am. Begin the biking tour at Hell’s Gate, covering 8 kilometers to the gorge, with wildlife along the route.
11am - Explore the gorges within the park. These are…
- Hell’s Gate National Park - 7am - Depart from Nairobi and begin the drive to Naivasha, with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint.
Arrive at Hell’s Gate entrance around 9:30am. Begin the biking tour at Hell’s Gate, covering 8 kilometers to the gorge, with wildlife along the route.
11am - Explore the gorges within the park. These are narrow land depressions where you can walk along the sides. This will take approximately 1 hour.
1pm - Conclude the tours and return the bikes, cycling 8 kilometers back to the gate.
Notes: 1. If you feel tired or prefer not to bike, you can tour the park by vehicle, and the driver will gladly stop for scenic views and photo opportunities.
- If you are too tired to bike back from the gorge, we are pleased to offer a complimentary ride back to the gate upon request.
- Lake Naivasha - Enjoy an optional 1-hour boat ride on the lake for bird watching and hippo viewing.
There is also a restaurant by the lake where you can have lunch.
Conclude activities around 4 pm and drive back to Nairobi.

Beautiful and physically rewarding - It was a physically busy but rewarding day!! Biking and hiking the park was a joy. And my driver, Joash, was very kind and safe when it came to transport to and from the hotel. I would absolutely recommend this activity. I completed it solo and felt very safe. And my in-park guide was an excellent photographer for me.

Cycling with zebra, gazelles and giraffes - Absolutely nice trip! Patrick not only organized a well designed program, wis his great sense of humor he even enriched the 1,5h drive to the park. We also had lots of fun cycling through the valley with Sammy our Massai guide. Although you get to see less variety of animals, the experience of cycling next to zebras, gazelles and giraffes is unique. The boat tour was also totally awesome, seeing plenty of birds and hippos. Absolutely recommended.

Enjoyable experience in Hell Gate & Lake Naivasha. - It turned out to be a private tour as I was the only participant. Had a fantastic tour of Hell’s Gate and Lake Naivasha with my guide, Joash. He was very friendly and thoughtful, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I didn’t cycle in Hell’s Gate, but Joash drove me through the park and stopped for me to take pictures with the animals. He also patiently waited while I explored on foot with the Hell Gate guide for a bit. He also took the boat ride at Lake Naivasha with me and helped me take pictures. The boat ride was relaxing, and we passed by Crescent Island which was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Unexpected delight - The tour to hell’s gate was an unexpected delight. Isaac was very accommodating and helpful starting with the pick up at the hotel, quick local breakfast stop and complete trip to Naivasha.
Isaac is very knowledgeable and began the tour with facts and information from the moment of pick up. Also, through his guidance, our guide at hell’s gate - Emi, provided us with the best experience during the tour.
Overall, Isaac was great and I recommend this tour with him as a guide.

Wonderful adventure - Great driver - both friendly and very experienced, wonderful landscape in hell’s gate - it’s awesome to go by bike - and later on we stopped at a very nice place for lunch near Lake Naivasha.
A Trip I can highly recommend :)

Amazing experience with great guides - Entire tour was excellent experience. We've seen a lot of interesting places and got stunning knowledge from Patrick, our guide. He was absolute master amongst the guides. In Hell's Gate we were biking with our local guide Samy, who was amazing. We learned a lot about the park itelf, but also about the culture of Massai. As a true representant of this tribe he shared few secrets about how do they live. Absolutely recommend going with them, everything was perfectly organized and whole family enjoyed it a lot (incl. our youngest 5yo kid).

Safari tour to see animals up close - On the way to Hellsgate National Park, they stopped by a place with beautiful views and it was a great experience. You can also buy souvenirs here. The safari in Hellsgate National Park was fun, as it allowed us to get closer to the animals than we had ever imagined. Our kids loved the HiLux. The tour was very kind to us, with departure times and drop-off points as per our request. My guide Jane was also cheerful, kind and very likable. This tour is recommended.

Fun, active day trip from Nairobi - Nice day trip from Nairobi. However, heavy traffic and a drive of more than 2 hours. Don't underestimate the bike ride to Hells Gate: chances are you'll get a bad bike or not customised and gears that don't work. Also the walk to Hells Gate is not suitable for everyone (quite a bit of climbing and descending) but we liked it! The gorge itself is beautiful but not the most beautiful we had already seen. We imagined it a little differently. We had a nice guide! Leki, a young Masaai guy who gives a lot of explanation and is well informed. For us the highlight was mainly the boat trip on Lake Naivasha. Pricey for 25 dollars but many beautiful animals and especially birds seen. Our driver Joash is also a typical, smiling Kenyan who we really appreciated.

Nice tour - We were in a group with two others and enjoyed a lovely day in the outdoors. We all opted to ride only one way and that was fine. The 8 km ride down to the gorge was pleasant and relatively easy. We saw some animals and beautiful scenery. The walk in the gorge required stepping on slippery and muddy places at times, so take adequate shoes. During the boat ride on Lake Naivasha, we were able to see hippos and other animals on Crescent Island from quite near and lots of birds. On the negative side, there was miscommunication with our pick-up location between the office person and the driver, which meant we were kept waiting half-an-hour in the morning, which in turn meant we had to leave lunch till 3pm in order not to be late for the boat ride. On top of that, entrance at the Park was messy trying to work through the e-citizen plataform, which each time we attempted it, would give us a different price with up to usd10 difference. In addition, toilets at the park entrance were filthy. Unfortunately, these little things detract from the overall experience, considering the cost. The tour was nice nonetheless.
