The next hall features the Birds of East Africa exhibit, a vast gallery with at least 900 stuffed specimens, followed by the Great Hall of Mammals. KOBE TOUGH Beads & Leather - This pottery company creates some of the world’s most beautiful beads. You will witness firsthand all the stages from start to finish. It is a unique factory as it employs single mothers from the poor neighborhood, providing them with a livelihood to support their families. It serves as a women empowerment center for the community. The center was established by women who previously worked for Kazuri Beads Factory when it closed during the pandemic, offering them a reprieve to continue providing for their families.

August 7th Memorial Park - Next, (optional tour), we will continue our tour along Parliament Road, onto Harambee Avenue, and to the August 7th Memorial Park, the bomb blast site. Born out of tragedy, the August 7th Memorial Park stands as a symbol of peace and hope amidst today’s global challenges. The park is located where the former United States Embassy once stood. Here, you will learn and appreciate the importance of peace worldwide as you visit the memorial museum. The museum was created to honor those who lost their lives during the tragic event on August 7th, 1998. It also tells the stories of survivors and those whose lives were forever changed by the 1998 terrorist bombing of the US embassy.
After these reflections and appreciation of the importance of peace, we will have a quick view of downtown Nairobi to experience the day-to-day life of ordinary Kenyans. Our city tour will then continue to the beads women’s factory.
- Maasai Market Collections Karen - After lunch (optional), we will proceed to experience Kenya’s rich cultural heritage. Enjoy the vibrant culture of Kenya’s 53 ethnic communities through traditional folklore dances. These cultural dances preserve, maintain, and promote the diverse cultural values of all ethnic communities. End of tour
- Utamaduni Craft Centre - After the exciting beads factory tour, we will continue to the Utamaduni Crafts Centre.
