It is the oldest national park in Kenya established in 1964 and covers an area of 117 sq km. The park is fiercely beautiful consisting areas of savanna grasslands, forests, cliffs,valleys and wetlands. It is a haven for both wildlife and bird life and has different types of trees and bushes. Visitors can easily see grazing herbivores such as Zebras, Eland, Buffaloes, Gazelles, Rhinos and other mammalian species. Carnivores found here includes Lions, Hyenas, Cheetah, Jackals and the Leopard. Bird watching is relatively easy from the park’s undisturbed grasslands, forests and wetlands. Visitors have a unique experience watching and photographing animals against a backdrop of city buildings.

Amazing break-out from a working day - I booked this trip the night before, with a request for 2 different pick up locations; Nairobi airport and a hotel. Also, due to working appointments, we wanted the trip to be within a specific timeline. Neither of these requests were an issue, we were picked up in time and returned to the hotel as agreed. We had an excellent trip and we spotted many animals, 3 out of the big 4, as well as hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles, maraboes and many many more. We had a pleasant break from our working day and would definetely advise to book with Benson Kungu's jungleman!

The perfect morning - The morning game drive at Nairobi National Park was absolutely magical!
We entered the park just as the first light of day touched the horizon, with the city skyline fading into the distance and the savannah awakening all around us. The contrast of skyscrapers in the background and giraffes grazing in the golden morning light was surreal.
Our guide’s sharp eyes spotted many animals, rhinos, lions, giraffes and countless zebras.
This morning safari was the perfect start to the day – peaceful, exciting, and unforgettable. I would recommend Benson as a guide to anyone visiting Nairobi!

Wonderful safari! - John was a great guide/spotter/driver. He was on time to pick me up at 5:30 am at my hotel. Once inside the park he was a keen animal spotter. Throughout the course of our time we saw lions, hippos, white rhinos, giraffes, eland, impalas, gazelles, zebras, baboons, crocodiles, ostrich, warthogs. John shared many facts and stories about the animals. He was also very knowledgeable about trees and birds. We saw vultures, cranes, guinea fowl, storks, heron, spoonbills, and a cinnamon-chested bee eater. John was polite and super patient as we stopped to just watch animals and silently observe them in awe. As a solo female traveler I appreciated his graciousness. Highly recommend this excursion and John!

Perfect combination of knowledgeable and kind! - It was an absolute pleasure having Benson as my tour guide - he was super knowledgeable and also incredibly kind. I was traveling alone and he made me feel super welcome and comfortable. It was so easy to spend the day with him!! Highly recommend:)

10/10 Experience🇬🇧 - Anyone who goes and manages to get Benson Kungu Jungleman as a tour guide you will be lucky. He is very enthusiastic, brings good energy and is very informative. Even went over time a little which was cool, we managed to see all the big 5 except the bulls. He made sure to ensure we try to see all and wouldn’t rest until we did. It was a pleasure, made my time in Kenya great I was excited to do this & would do it again.

Highly recommended tour and guide! - I was on this half-day trip with Benson Kungu early in April 2024.
Benson is a very nice and experienced guide who knows the area very well. He has a huge knowledge about the animals in the park.
Safe driver.

Great tour - Everything was great including on time pick up and a clean/well maintained van. It was a rainy season and the weather wasn't great, and the tour was supposed to be for 5 hours in the park. But Benson actually spent more time to make sure I saw every possible animal. Highly recommended.

Transformative safari trip - Benson is so knowledgeable about the animals, and very attentive to needs and interests. Benson always seemed to know where the animals would be and was able to predict their activities, allowing plenty of time for taking pictures. He picked me up at my Nairobi hotel and dropped me off at the elephant orphanage, which was very helpful. I had an amazing tour!

An Amazing Game Drive - Benson arrived promptly at my hotel by 5:45am to pick me up for a half-day tour of Nairobi National Park while I was briefly in town. Benson has been guiding for 18 years, and so has accrued a lot of useful knowledge not only about the various animals/species/behaviors as you would expect, but also where the specific animals can be found within the park. This includes knowing the different prides and their territories within the park, where the hippos hangout, etc.. Knowing that I was very keen on taking some great photos, Benson always tried to position the vehicle as best he could, keeping in mind where the sun was so that I could photograph the animals.
Luck seemed to be in my favor for the game drive - we started the morning off sighting a cheetah that seemed like he was ready to hunt some nearby prey, but wasn’t going in for the kill. We eventually moved on and discovered a pride of 4 lions (male, lioness and two cubs) with a fresh kill of a big buffalo about as close to the roadside as could be possible. By the end of the game drive, we had seen white rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, zebra, jackals, wildebeests and many other species of wildlife and various birds.
Overall I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better game drive and would recommend Benson when in Kenya.
