Giraffe Centre - Begin your tour with a pick-up from your Nairobi accommodation or hotel. Head to the Giraffe Centre, the headquarters of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, made famous by ‘Daisy Rothschild.’ It’s an incredible experience to be eye-to-eye with a giraffe, giving you a true sense of the size of these gentle giants. The education center offers extensive information about the breeding and conservation of Kenya’s three rarest giraffe species. Learn about their behaviors, traits, and more through conservation education as you get up close on a raised observation platform.
KOBE TOUGH beads & leather - Next, visit the Bead Factory, a pottery company known for creating some of the world’s most beautiful beads. You’ll be guided through all the stages from start to finish. This unique factory employs single mothers from impoverished neighborhoods, providing them with a livelihood to support their families. The pottery, ceramic, and bead factory’s beautiful gifts and souvenirs are exported worldwide. A gift shop on-site stocks some of their products. Note that the workshop is closed on Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday, but the gift shop is open seven days a week. You will then break for lunch (at your own expense).
Nairobi National Museum - After lunch, head to the Nairobi National Museum, which features captivating displays of early man, tribal regalia, and Kenya’s flora and fauna. Experience various cultural exhibits of Kenya, including early archaeological discoveries.
Snake Park - After spending two hours exploring the museum, proceed to the nearby Snake Park. See a variety of snakes, both venomous and non-venomous, in captivity, as well as Nile crocodiles and different fish species. After your excursion, you will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel.
