A very real experience - Authentic and insightful walk into downtown Nairobi. Our guides ( Typhoon and King ) were former street children who knew the area and its people intimately. We had 2 guides for 3 of us so felt very safe and secure the whole time . A really unique and humbling experience.

The most amazing way to see real Nairobi, thank you guys. - Great way to see the real city of Nairobi, they take you to places you would never go to on your own as a tourist, you get to see how real Kenyan people live and the real culture. I can’t tell you how amazing it was, you have 3 guides looking after you the whole time. Typhoon my main guide was so knowledgeable living on the streets since the age of nine. He’s now 23 and walking around the downtown area, just about everyone knows him. Don’t miss this trip what ever you do.

Book it now - If you want to see all parts of Nairobi (not just the curated areas) and support young people to have a better future then this is the tour for you. Typhoon shared his story with me and I felt privileged. I also felt a lot of respect for him and the other guides. This is a tour that will leave you a bit shaken (downtown Nairobi isn't for everyone) but also humbled.
I went with my friend and while it was clearly edgy, I felt safe with Typhoon, Kissmas, Priest, King and Quick. We met loads of people along the way and enjoyed some nice food at the end. You have the opportunity to give some money to buy some other street kids some food. We gave it to Quick and he did the rest. Bring a few thousand KSH and do what you can. We didn't take any pictures for personal reasons (respect) but the guides can advise. It's great to give to a place when you visit as well as take the best bits (and there are loads) best of luck boys!!!

Fantastic, eye opening, and transformative tour! - This tour is one of the most eye-opening and transformative that I have ever attended. This tour and the story(ies) shared during the tour will make you appreciate everything that you have and be grateful for all the opportunities (big and small) that you have had.
I recommend this tour to absolutely everyone!

Downtown Nairobi is the engine of the city. An absolute furnace. - Typhoon and Tsunami (I'm not making this up) were our guides. Our group was broken into a smaller group where I was led by Typhoon around downtown Nairobi. I don't think I've ever had an experience quite like it, as Typhoon shared his own stories and we go on the ground level to the boiling pot of the downtown. It is a mandatory tour if you do decide to go to Nairobi and genuinely want to learn about the place where you're staying - this is the best education for you.
We also ended the tour with lunch in a local eatery where all the food was basically 10/10. I really had no idea Kenyan food can be this great.

Amazing tour. A must see tour if you want to hear and see stories of survival of those living on the streets in Nairobi. - This was such an amazing tour, lead by those who had survived the challenges of living in “downtown” Nairobi.
Our guide”Tsunami” was a survivor and he told us his life story as we entered the back streets far from the normal tourist routes of Nairobi.
As we walked in this area where he had grown up, he told stories not just of poverty but of the violence and lack of support from authorities who made life even more challenging than you could possibly imagine.
We felt safe throughout the tour as “Tsunami” ensured we were guided across crazy intersections. If you want to view what surviving on the streets of Nairobi looks like, we can’t recommend this tour highly enough.

Tour with former street kids - We met with our guide Tsunami at an agreed time and he gave us a really good insight into life as a street child. He was very open about his past life as an abuser and you could ask about anything. You get your own guide and it was safe and exciting to walk with Tsunami and his colleague. Super fun to end with a lunch in the area and get to taste local dishes.

Did not show up or make any contact with me - The tour guide/organiser did not show up to the agreed meeting point and did not respond to WhatsApp messages or emails. I waited from 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time, to half an hour after the tour was meant to start - only leaving when I began to attract unwelcome attention. Despite attempts to contact, I have had no further response from the organisers or an explanation as to what has happened. If you do. decide to book this, do not book directly with the company, use Airbnb or Tripadvisor, so you have some recourse if what happened to me happens to you - rather than being left at the mercy of a seemingly unmonitored email address and WhatsApp line.
