NAIROBI – ABERDARES (Overnight – Shamat Gate Campsite)
Aberdare National Park - Depart early from Nairobi to Aberdares National Park, entering through Treetop Gate for a game drive. With some luck, one might spot the elusive giant forest hogs, elephants, rare black and white colobus monkeys, and a variety of bird species. The journey continues through montane forest, bamboo, and hergenia zones, leading to the scenic moorland. Here, a visit to a stunning waterfall and an attempt to reach Chebuswa point (3,364M Asl) are planned before returning in the late evening to Shamat Gate Campsite for an overnight stay. A picnic lunch is provided along the way.
Equator Marker - Stop At The Equator. A visit to the Equator line in Nanyuki town, located in the heart of Kenya, is a must. This spot is famous for its equator point, attracting both locals and tourists eager to stand on the equator. For those interested in science, locals demonstrate an experiment to show the Coriolis effect.
LE SATIMA PEAK (4001M)
Nairobi - After breakfast, the journey continues with a drive up a steep, marshy section of the trail to Twin Rock, where a 4-hour trek to Le Satima peak (4001m) begins. On clear days, there are chances to see Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon, as well as the surrounding areas of Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the Daiga hills. The descent leads to a transfer vehicle for the return trip to Nairobi. A picnic lunch is provided along the way.

The Satima trail is the most scenic and gentle of all the Aberdare trails, with the route hugging the escarpments above undulating valleys and hills of rich alpine and sub-alpine flora, including species of lobelia, erica, giant helichrysum and tussock grasses.
