Maasai Mara National Reserve - Check out of your hotel and drive via Narok Town to Maasai Mara National Reserve, the land of the Maasai tribe. The proud, young Maasai warrior-nomads with their plaited hair, red cloaks, and spears will pique your curiosity. This 700-square-mile game reserve is the Africa you know from your dreams, complete with wild animals grazing amid the superb rolling landscape of gentle hills and acacia woodlands. Check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. There will be time to settle in before your first afternoon game drive. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve and return to camp before dark. Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, you will leave with your picnic lunch for a full-day game drive in the reserve in search of the Big Five and other numerous plain animals. You will have a lunch break in the reserve, after which you will continue with your game drive until the afternoon. Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape features grassy plains and rolling hills, crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. Accommodation: Jambo Mara Lodge.
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park - After an early breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru in the west. You will ascend the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley, where lush coffee and tea plantations dot the landscape. Your driver-guides will give you a brief overview of coffee and tea farming in Kenya along the way, and you will have a short stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photographs. You will arrive in Lake Nakuru in time for lunch, after which you will set off for a game drive in the park in search of the Big Five: lions, rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants. Lake Nakuru is also famous for its millions of flamingos and migrant birds that dot its shores. In fact, Nakuru has over 425 different bird species. You will return to the hotel before dark for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Wagon Wheel Hotel.
Lake Nakuru National Park - Jinja
Jinja - After breakfast, you will depart Nakuru for Jinja, driving across the Malaba border. You will pass by the source of the Nile River, the world’s longest. It begins its journey here before crossing through ten African countries and plunging into the Mediterranean Sea. Jinja town is regarded as the adventure capital of East Africa. It is a place brimming with adventure sports and activities, including white water rafting, bungee jumping, and kayaking. We encourage our clients to take a boat ride for an extra fee. It is always a dream boat ride on the longest river in Africa. Overnight: Paradise Jinja Hotel.
Jinja Town - Kabale - Lake Bunyonyi Uganda
Lake Bunyonyi - After breakfast, you will drive down to Kabale, Uganda’s highest town (2000m), witnessing beautiful, lush scenery along the way. We will camp at Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s deepest crater lake (900m). Bunyonyi means “place of the little birds,” so you can expect to see interesting and unique birdlife while staying here. Enjoy a beautiful drive over the mountains as we transfer to our base in Kisoro, which sits on the southwestern tip of Uganda. You will have a relaxing evening as we prepare for the trek ahead. This is an excellent place to rest before your gorilla trek. Overnight: Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - Today, we embark on the experience of a lifetime. Trek through the early morning mist in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, which is home to roughly half of the world’s 700 remaining mountain gorillas. The trekking can be demanding and take as long as a full day - a water bottle and good walking shoes or boots are highly recommended. Experienced local guides will lead you through the thick mountain jungle. Once we locate the gorillas, we will stay and observe them for about an hour (this time is strictly regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority). Photography is permitted, although not with the use of flash (there are also restrictions on the use of video cameras). With or without a camera, however, this is one of the most breathtaking and emotional experiences Africa can offer and is certainly one that will remain with you long after your journey. Pygmy Village Visit
Kabale - Today, you will have your morning breakfast and then take a guided walk to visit locals in the community. You will have the option to visit the local Batwa community or go canoeing on the lake. Return to the camp in time for lunch, after which you will be free to relax or take a walk in the community. Overnight: Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Kabale Uganda - Jinja Town
Jinja - After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kampala, eating lunch en route. You will arrive in the city by evening. Check in to your hotel and spend some time enjoying the nightlife this city has to offer. Return to the hotel for your overnight stay. Accommodation: Paradise Jinja Hotel.
Jinja Town - Lake Naivasha National Park
Lake Naivasha - After breakfast, head south, passing through Naivasha town and drive around the southern end of the lake, past the flower farms to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. Soon after you enter the park, the impressive landscape unfolds before you: a semi-arid world with sheer rugged cliffs, open plains, and deep concealed gorges. An afternoon boat ride at extra cost among colonies of hippos will provide an ideal view over Lake Naivasha. There are many activities you can do in Hell’s Gate, including walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching, and trekking through the gorge among the geysers. Enjoy a picnic lunch, then depart mid-afternoon for your accommodation on Lake Naivasha for a well-earned hot shower and a cold drink. Accommodation: Naivasha Kongoni Lodge.
Lake Naivasha National Park - Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park - We depart for Amboseli via Nairobi in the morning after breakfast and drive south through Masai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro, where Amboseli is situated. After a picnic lunch en route with the majestic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro, spectacular displays of wildlife such as lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, cheetahs, buffaloes, and various plains game are almost always guaranteed. Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park - You’ll rise early for breakfast with a backdrop of good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before the clouds build up over the summit. With a packed lunch provided, spend a whole day in Amboseli National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives. We may opt for a visit to a Maasai Village, where you can witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in all of Africa to experience elephants up close. Not harassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps are a highlight of any safari. Accommodation: AA Lodge Amboseli.
