There are much less tourists here which gives you the opportunity to savour and enjoy the surroundings. The template has been so well preserved and has lots of small shrines and a gate on the approach up to it with beautiful trees and plants and lanterns all around. There are also lots of little restaurants and places to buy souvenirs. We had a really enjoyable walk up to see this - 25 minutes from Nagano station and it was well worth the walk. A really beautiful place.

Monkey Park in September - We enjoyed our day exploring the Monkey Park. The hike through the forest was beautiful and our guide and driver (Ali and Abdul) did a great job. While we didn’t see many monkeys since it was off season, we had a great day. My advice: go at a different time of year but request Ali and Abdul to be your driver and guide!

Unforgettable Day with Snow Monkeys, Zenkoji & Sake Tasting - We had an incredible time on the 1-Day Private Snow Monkey, Zenkoji Temple & Sake Tasting Tour. Seeing the snow monkeys soaking in their natural hot springs was unforgettable, and the visit to Zenkoji Temple was both cultural and calming. Our guide Ali made the day smooth, informative, and enjoyable, ensuring we didn't miss any highlights. Highly recommended!

Unforgettable Day in Nagano! - We had an amazing time on the 1-Day Private Snow Monkey Zenkoji Temple & Sake Tasting Tour! From the moment we met our guide, everything was seamless. The Snow Monkeys were such a unique experience, and getting to see them in their natural hot springs was something we’ll never forget. Zenkoji Temple was breathtaking, and learning about its history made the visit even more special.
The highlight for us, though, was the sake tasting – a perfect way to end the day! We got to try a variety of local sakes, and the tasting experience was both fun and educational.
Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nagano – it’s the perfect mix of culture, nature, and a bit of local flavor!

Interesting tour in Nagano.. - Outstanding day! Malik, our driver/guide, was excellent. His English was very good and he was attentive & always ready to help to what we wanted to see and do.The Zenjoki Temple has different five types of shrines also have alot of different number of buddahs. We went to many temples in Kyoto however we had not encountered a temple as large and interesting as this one. We also enjoyed the local Japanese festival during the trip at the temple which was a rare experience for us to visualize the authentic Japanese culture. All in all an outstanding day. We are really happy with the service as it is value of money doing this tour.

Amazing Day - This private tour was amazing experience to visit Nagano region me & my family really enjoyed the tour. We had interaction with the naughty monkeys. Looking them closely was really great experience as we never had this kind of experience before. Sajid our driver was great person he patiently waited for us at every spot. Lunch was delicious we loved this trip and took alot of memories with us. Highly recommend this service to everyone.

Hot Spring Bathing Monkeys - One of the must visit place in Nagano region. Best experience. As my wife & I participated in this trip we had amazing experience . Our driver Malik had fluent English skills was also accommodating & friendly. Lunch meal was great. Trail up to the mountain is quite lengthy but amazing views. Finally Monkeys amazing & visualising them closely was best part of the tour. We Highly recommend Smile tours as they delivered their best to make our trip comfortable and relaxed.

Not as advertised. This is a driver service - there is no guide to the attractions.. - Extremely Disappointed. "Smile" tours misrepresented what it delivers. This is a driver service only. There is no guide for the monkey park or temple. There is no sake tasting. The lunch was not good - it included the worst sushi I've ever had. This company is trying to present itself as another company that actually offers an English speaking guide to the attractions. And it takes longer than 6 hours, since they don't mention the two hour roundtrip drive to the monkey park. Our driver was a nice person but he could have spoken Japanese and it wouldn't have mattered since he barely spoke to us...
