Would not return. - After spending 5 hours here we wouldn’t have left a review at all because it was a very “ordinary” experience. But when we checked out things went so far south that we chose to share our experience. The club was maybe 10-20 percent full. So service should have been great. However the servers were hard to find and we constantly forgetting things. Cutlery, water, glasses for wine, ice, menus. This made the stay less than extraordinary. We ordered crab claws. The price was 420 pesos so about $35 CDN. The flavour of the potatoes and corn and sauce was good however the crab was inedible because it was so tough. We could not eat it so returned it when the waiter finally came back. It also had a weird charcoal taste that was unpleasant. Second we ordered vegetable and shrimp tempura. After a few pieces we stopped eating because the tempura was soggy and the dish was completely unseasoned. The dipping sauce also was nearly tasteless. Being embarrassed that the second dish was not good we said nothing. We decided to just have drinks which were average. A few hours later we decided to share a simple club house sandwich and fries thinking that there would be no way that could be messed up. We were wrong. 4 slices of dry white wonder bread with 1 slice of thin ham, 1 leaf of lettuce, one slice of kraft cheese slice, a few minuscule pieces of dried out chicken breast and about 4 tbsp of mustard on it. Litterally all you could taste was mustard. The fries were unseasoned. Half of the fries were cold and hard and the other half were soggy and uncooked in the middle. It was as if two batches of fries were mixed together. I believe in being kind especially to servers because their job is hard. So again we said nothing. Covered the meal with our napkins. We asked for the bill. The crab legs were still on the bill so we said we did not eat them and had returned them and wouldn’t pay for them. We said nothing about the other two terrible dishes. This is where things got messy. The waiter said that if we didn’t pay for them that he would have to pay for them. Then he spoke to a “manager” and they had a heated discussion in Spanish. We were told we were obligated to pay because we didn’t tell them soon enough about the problem. We said that we told the waiter as soon as he made his way back. They wouldn’t budge. So we laid the bill in full and declined tipping. Very uncomfortable experience. As we left the waiter ran after us healing us about not tipping and thanked us for not tipping in front of anyone that could hear. Also be warned the floor is extremely slippery and we witnessed two people almost fall as did one of us. Overall experience was unfortunately very poor. Slow service , terrible food, average drinks, and definitely on the high end of pricy. I don’t mind paying a lot for a great experience but paying a lot for a bad experience is not ok.
