Highlights
  • Mercado Libertad - Grab your appetite! Our adventure kicks off at Mercado Libertad, the bustling heart of the city’s culinary scene. With over 500 food stalls to explore, it’s a true foodie paradise. Step back in time with me as we visit two of my favorite childhood haunts – local stands serving up mouthwatering barbacoa and birria tacos. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds! We’ll be interacting with friendly vendors, sampling exotic fruits and indulging in delightful artisanal candies. Make sure you bring cash to snatch up unique souvenirs, handicrafts, and the perfect gifts for loved ones back home. (Don’t worry, ATMs are readily available if needed!)

  • Instituto Cultural Cabanas - Immerse yourself in history and art at Guadalajara ‘s stunning Hospicio Cabañas! Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and admire an astonishing set of 57 murals by Jose Clemente Orozco, one of the three greatest muralists of Mexico. Unravel the stories behind the architectural marvel and delve into the powerful murals. This UNESCO site has strict regulations regarding external guides, but feel free to explore the museum at your own pace. I will provide insights to enhance your understanding of the museum and Orozco’s art.

  • Guadalajara Metropolitan Area - Get ready to wander through Guadalajara’s vibrant historic center! We’ll visit must-see landmarks and architectural wonders, including the Cathedral, Teatro Degollado, Palacio de Gobierno, Plaza de Armas, Glorieta de los Jaliscienses Ilustres, and Plaza de la Liberacion, showcasing Baroque, Renaissance, Neoclassical, and Art Nouveau architecture. I’ll bring the city’s past and present to life, tailoring the tour to your interests and providing a clear understanding of Guadalajara’s rich history in a fun and relaxed way.

  • Plaza Fundadores - No tour of Guadalajara is complete without a visit to Founders Plaza. This landmark isn’t just a pretty square; it’s a window into the fascinating story of Spanish colonization in Western Mexico. We’ll uncover the origins of Guadalajara’s name and delve into how Mexican society views this complex legacy today.

  • Templo Expiatorio del Santisimo Sacramento - This stunning Neo-Gothic church is more than just a place of worship. Can you guess how it unveils the city’s religious conflicts, intertwined with the US influence on Mexico? Let’s explore on our tour!

  • Glorieta de Los Ninos Heroes - Step back in time to Colonia Americana, Guadalajara’s historic district built by 19th-century American, European and Mexican industrialists. Admire the beautifully preserved, eclectic architecture lining the leafy streets. This neighborhood has transformed into the city’s hippest hangout, brimming with young energy.

Here, you’ll find a vibrant scene of art galleries, trendy restaurants, and stylish bars. We’ll cap off our tour at a local favorite, where you can savor delicious craft beers and top-shelf tequilas. As you mingle with the friendly crowd, soak up the vibe of modern, youthful Mexico.
