Go to Gombe! - From the time Abbas met us at the airport in Kigoma to when he left us at the airport, we didn't have anything to worry about: everything was taken care of seamlessly, from transportation to and from Gombe, to our accommodation in the Kasakela luxury tents (with beds and ensuite bathrooms), to the chimpanzee treks with Abbas and park ranger Ahadi. We did a total of 4 chimpanzee treks and saw chimps on each . . . and we were lucky enough that we were also visited in camp by Gremlin and her babies, one of whom tried to steal my husband's shorts from the camp's laundry line! Gombe is beautiful and the camp is perfectly situated, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. You can see not only chimps other primates (especially the baboons, who will try to sneak into your tent if you don't lock the zippers), birds, and of course, cichlid fish: we could snorkel in the lake just steps from our tent. (Be advised, though, that trekking to see the chimps involves walking from the shore up into the hills. You do want a minimal level of fitness.) Many thanks to Abbas, Ahadi, and the park's trackers and camp staff!

Chimp-tastic! - Fantastic trip. Really well organised. Amazing time in the forest with the chimpanzees. The lake itself was beautiful. Great for a morning swim.

The best service. - I am not even sure where to start because everything was beyond perfect. Customer service was the best. The entire team took extremely good care of us. We hiked and in one day we saw a lot of chimpanzees in the park. Juma organized it on very short notice and Abbas is very knowledgeable about the park and took us to the best routes. Thanks a lot, guys!

To see chimps in wild nurture it is such a wonderful experience with comfy background of nice food and accommodation. - Forest is just perfect like it is. But to see chimps around it is just wonderful! The atmosphere of whole stay is complete with comfort of very delicious food. ( They provide choice of vegetarian food 😍) and if you also choose spending night in tent on the beach of Tanganika, you won't forget!!! And you will wish to come again. Note: be sure to keep fruit and soap in closed tent, baboons like them all 😝😝😝

Amazing and professional - We booked a 3-day tour in Gombe national park with we cab Safari and it was amazing! The staff (Juma, the owner of we cab, and Johnson, the cook) were spoiling us and were very professional. We slept in super nice tents, had great food three times a day and were trekking and spending time with the chimps every day. We are very thankful for the professional organization, and a fun time together. I would always book with we cab again.

Amazing trip with amazing organizers. - Gombe NP was in my wish list but the issue was the cost of making it. I had to contact numerous agencies who were mostly over my budget. While looking online, we luckily found We Cab Tours and Safaris and contacted them directly. Their proposal was reasonable and we had the room to negotiate. At the end, we made it and they did everything from flights, accommodation plan and trekking. Gombe NP trip was amazing, three nights in it with one night in Kigoma Town was more than amazing. We recommend this tour company whenever you plan for Gombe NP. They are very professionals.

Awesome experience - Seeing the chimpanzees was an awesome experience you will never forget. Thanks to Jane Goodall the park is maintained to have a sustainable tourism. Viewing time of the chimpanzees is limited to 1 hour and you need to wear a face mask. This is a reasonable measurement to protect the chimpanzees. For sure everyone of the locals want to have a piece of the cake from the tourism revenue. Therefore nearly every visitor have his own park guide plus 1 or 2 tour operator guides. I wished that there where maybe some more information about the park and the chimpanzees respectively more updated ones. (I think information about the chimpanzee group end around 2000). The resthouse / tented camps are located directly to the lake tanganyika. It is a beautyful place where you can see an incredible sunset. We went there with a tour operator from Kigoma who organised everything from our arrival at the airport until our departure. But if you are on a low budget you can visit Gombe National Park also by yourself. If you are brave enough you can go there by a public transport boat which brings the locals to the villages along the lake tanganyika. This is for sure the cheapest way to get there. I think a better solution is to find a privat boat transport. Therefore you may need to ask around the city or at the harbour and don't forget to negotiate about the price ;) I think a round trip from Kigoma should not cost more than 150-200$. If you want to sleep in the park you may need to prebook the rooms or tented camps. This was also organised by our tour operator.

Gombe/Chimpanzee Trip - We enjoyed seeing the chimpanzees and thought Juma was of great help. Somethings came up that were out of both of our controls, which was not ideal of course, but his communication and ability to talk through things was refreshing. We have traveled quite a bit and it is rare that both sides walk away from this happy with the resolution. Thanks Juma!
