Amazing tour, great guide!! - I went on this tour and Said Alkiyumi was the tour guide for the day. He arrived at my pick up point on time and messaged me to let me know he arrived. It was a 2 hour drive to the desert, the roads were clear so we had a good drive getting there. Said was very friendly and informative and happy to answer any questions I had. We had a quick stop at Fanja market, where you can buy pottery, lamps, clay pots and dried fish. After that, we visited a little house out in the desert where an old lady making hand made gifts. You also had the opportunity to ride a camel. Had a lot of fun driving across the desert. After that we headed for Wadi Bani Khalid. Had a nice walk to the beautiful emerald pools surrounded by a rugged ravine and palm trees. The views were so pretty and spent some time in the water getting foot massages by the little fishes. After that we headed for a late lunch and I had camel meat for the first time. It was absolutely delicious and very cheap for a massive portion of food! Said was a very lovely guide who was very friendly and chatty, bought me ice cream and karak tea and was awesome company to be in. I would thoroughly recommend this tour! 5⭐️

Precious experience in Wahiba Sands and Wadi bani khalid - It was really great that we visited a Bedouin house, where we were treated with wonderful food and coffee. Their food was so delicious that our kids were very happy with eating it. And the camel ride was also a great experience. After that we proceeded to Wadi Bani Khalid. We enjoyed swimming there.

Our adventure in the desert and swimming in Wadi Bani Khalid - I booked this trip for our family - myself, wife and two kids (13 & 15). We had a clear communication prior to the trip with Star Tours Oman what was included and what we needed to bring - for example that t-shirt was needed when swimming and that bikini was not ok. In the morning at 08:30 our driver Abdul Aziz fetched us in a big 4WD Mitsubishi Jeep from our hotel in Muscat. The car was clean and big enough. Water was provided. We had a pleasant drive to the desert. I chatted with Abdul Azis who spoke good English and he rest of the family feel pleasantly asleep in the backset. After an hour or so we stopped at a petrol station for a break and Abdul Azis kindly purchased drink and coffee for us at his own expense. After deflating the tyres - did not know that was needed! - we headed out in the desert to a nomad camp. Here we had pleasant coffee and dates in a relaxing tent and had the opportunity to purchase - if we wanted - some hand-made merchandise that the wife of the household and her daughters had produced. We had some great photo sessions by the camels and also decided to take ride the camels with the whole family (3 OMR per person). After this we headed further into the desert and then the real fun with the 4WD began... Abdul Azis was an expert driver and he drive us, with our accompanying screams of joy / fea, up and down the sand dunes. He parked on top of a high one and we spent some time there surveying the fast majestic view! The boys, being boys father included, raced down and up the adjacent sand dune which was great fun. We left the desert and stopped at a local restaurant for a very tasty lunch buffé. Sitting on the floor with cushions in the traditional style we enjoyed camel, goat, chicken, fish, newly baked bread, salad and drinks - all for a modest 3 OMR per person. The food was indeed excellent! Abdul Azis - being a smart and well planned person - had timed the trip well so we got to the restaurant before most of the other tourist vehicles arrived as well. After lunch we headed towards the famous Wadi Bani Khalid. We were quite lucky as it has rained a lot two days before and the wadi was really full with water, even flooding the roads at some parts. Swimming in the amazing and beautiful landscape was for me and my boys the highlight of the trip. In was quite adventurous as well - the current was strong due to the rains - so a word of caution - one must be a strong swimmer so swim along the whole wadi, otherwise stick to the calmer pools. Also beware that huge rock formations are overhead in certain passages - and being nature - there is no guarantee that these will not fall down, so keeping the voices low is advised to avoid inadvertently triggering a rock slide. We spent a bit more time here than was intended - but our driver Abdul Azis did mind and was very helpful in guarding our bags and taking photos of us all when we swam. Not it was time to head back to Muscat - a three hour drive. Once again Abdul Azis was very helpful and went beyond what was expected. He helped us stop at an ATM as we were running a bit low on cash - always needed - and also he took at to the best shop in Muscat for buying dates. This was a shop that tourist normally never find, so we were very happy about that purchased some excellent tasting dates to bring back home. We arrived back at the hotel around 20:00 tired but very happy! This trip was the highlight of our week in Muscat, it would not have been complete without it... it gave us a rich experience and was a lot of fun for the whole family. I can really recommend it.

Fantastic Oman Adventure with Musab - We actually did two tours with Star Tours Oman and had a wonderful guide in Musab for both. We really enjoyed seeing Wadi Bani Khalid and the desert for the first time, and then had a great trip to Nizwa and a nearby historical village. Musab was a great guide throughout, very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions! We would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to explore Oman.
