  • Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque - What is special about Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque?
It is the country’s largest mosque

It has the capacity for 20,000 worshippers, with 6,500 in the main musalla prayer hall, 750 in the women’s musalla and a further 8,000 in the outer paved grounds, plus additional space in the interior courtyard and along the passageways.

  • Royal Opera House - The Royal Opera House Muscat is Oman’s premier venue for musical arts and culture. The opera house is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat on Sultan Qaboos Street.
    Opened: 2011
    Construction started: 2007.

  • Qurum Beach - This beach lies in AlQurm Area in the heart of Muscat and extends over a large area. A number of large hotel chains are built next to it, such as Hotel Muscat InterContinental and Crowne Plaza. This beach is considered one of the busiest in Muscat due to its location near shopping centres and restaurants.

  • Bait Al Zubair - Bait Al Zubair is cultural foundation started initially with a private museum that opened its carved wooden doors to the public in 1998. It is funded by its founders, the Zubair family. In 2005 the family established the Bait Al Zubair Foundation as the cultural and social arm of the family-owned business, The Zubair Corporation.

  • The National Museum - The museum was established by royal decree in 2013 and opened July 30, 2016.[1] It was designed to be the Sultanate’s flagship cultural institution, showcasing the nation’s heritage from the earliest human settlement in the Oman Peninsula some two million years ago through to the present day.

  • Al Alam Palace - Al Alam Palace, one of six residences of the sultan, has a history of over 200 years, and was built under the watch of Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, the 7th direct grandfather of Sultan Qaboos.

  • Mirani Fort - Al Mirani Fort in Muscat was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. It, along with neighbouring Al Jalali Fort, looks out to the Gulf of Oman and would guard the port of Muscat in the past. The Mirani Fort and Al Jalali Fort are located on either side of the palace. Although closed to the public, visitors can view this fort from outside. This fort was extremely instrumental in the downfall of the Portuguese. The fort has many ancient war tools on display.

  • Mutrah Souq - Mutrah Souq is a prototype of old Eastern markets, characterized by narrow winding alleys roofed with wood. This Souq goes by another name among the Omanis: the Market of Darkness, due to its myriad of alleys and roads lined by shops that block the sun during the day.

Perfect layover! - I had a 7 hour layover in Muscat so decided to book this tour to kill some time and it worked out perfectly. The guide picked me up at the meeting time and was very easy to find. The itinerary was clear and followed but I also definitely had the ability to alter it if/as needed. I got to see the main sights and it was a nice introduction to the city. I did this tour as a solo female traveler, I felt extremely safe, would definitely recommend!

My Solo Experience - Great tour. Nice way to see the city and some of the major sites. My guide Suweilem was great. He took his time and didn’t ever rush me.

Great Introduction to Muscat - We had limited time in our layover and we were given a great tour seeing the highlights of Muscat with plenty of stops to take photos, learn about important buildings/monuments/locations, and do that all-important souvenir shopping. Airport pick up was seamless inside the terminal with drop off just as smooth. You can tell there was a deep sense of love of the city and country and I know we only scratched the surface of what it has to offer. I absolutely would book this company again on another visit to the city between the mountains and the sea.

Must see places - Actually, we expected more than just a pick up from the hotel, taking us to the places and not saying anything about them. The driver was nice, helpful but didn't tell us anything except for the name of the places. So, it was just a driver, not a guide.

Save your money Book a taxis - The English speaking guide that was advertised and booked couldn't speak English. Difficulty in finding them at airport and then didn't appear to know what they were doing or going on tour
