Nizwa Fort Oman - The journey begins in Muscat, heading to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman. Visitors explore the renowned Nizwa Fortress, now a museum that highlights the fort’s history and the surrounding region. Walking through the fortress offers stunning views of the ancient town and nearby mountains. This remarkable fortress served as a military base to withstand significant attacks and sieges.

Nizwa Souk - Adjacent to the fortress is the expansive Nizwa Souq, a local market offering a wide range of goods, including jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats. The variety is extensive!

Birkat Al Mouz Ruins - The tour continues with a drive to Jebel Akhdar, visiting the old village of Birkat Al Mauz, followed by the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn, one of the five UNESCO-listed irrigation heritage systems.

Jebel Akhdar - The journey ascends to Jebel Akhdar, also known as the Green Mountain, home to numerous fruit plantations and rose gardens. Visitors can enjoy walking through the hills and appreciating the valley views. Jebel Akhdar offers a wealth of experiences.

Muscat - Pick-up is available from any location within the Muscat area. The drive from Muscat to Nizwa takes approximately 2 hours.

Bahla Fort – Al Hamra Old Village – Misfah Al Abriyyin – Jebel Shams – Muscat

Jebel Shams - After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, the tour departs to Jebel Shams, the largest and most renowned canyon in the Sultanate of Oman. The canyon’s breathtaking beauty invites exploration and wonder.

Bahla Fort - The tour then descends the mountains for about 25 km to visit Bahla Fort, recognized by UNESCO as one of the world’s oldest heritage sites.

Al Hamra - Following breakfast, a short drive leads through the ancient village of Al Hamra.

Misfah al Abriyyin - The tour proceeds to Misfah al Abriyyin, a charming village situated on a steep slope at the base of Jebel Shams, a few kilometers from Al Hamra. It features old homes, narrow streets, and a large Falaj system that irrigates numerous orchards, date palms, and vegetables. Spending at least 1 ½ hours exploring the village is highly recommended. Marked footpaths guide visitors through the village and surrounding area. In the late afternoon, the tour returns to Muscat.

Continue to the picturesque mountain village of Misfat Al Abriyeen before making your way to the majestic Jebel Shams — Oman’s Grand Canyon.

After taking in the views, relax on the drive back to Muscat.
