Muscat City Tour Half Day 4 Hours

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque - At around 8:30 AM, the tour will commence through the beautiful city of Muscat, starting with a visit to the grand mosque. This mosque features one of the largest single-piece handmade Iranian carpets globally, weighing an impressive 21 tons and accommodating up to 20,000 worshippers. Following this, the tour will proceed to the ministries and the Royal Opera House area, a leading arts and culture institution in Oman.

Qurum Beach - Next, there will be a stop at Qurum Beach for photos, and guests will have the opportunity to taste Omani bread with honey and karak tea.

Bimmah Sinkhole - Departing Muscat at approximately 8:30 AM, the first stop is Bimmah Sinkhole, a large crater near the sea with a small lake at the bottom, believed to have been created by a meteor.

Fins Beach - The next destination is Fins Beach, known for its strikingly white, pebbly shores and stunning blue waters.

Wadi Shab & Sinkhole - The journey continues to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge lined with palm trees, showcasing the power of water from the mountains. After a 35-minute hike through the canyon, visitors reach crystal-clear water pools, where they can swim from pool to pool. The final pool leads to a crevice cave with a small waterfall, where sunlight transforms the water into a beautiful turquoise blue.

Wadi Tiwi - The next stop is Wadi Tiwi, named after the coastal village of Tiwi, featuring lush plantations that give it a greener appearance than many other wadis.

Ras al Hadd Castle - Overnight stay at Turtle Beach Resort, with an optional evening turtle watching experience available for 12 OMR per person.

Sur - After breakfast, the tour departs for Sur, showcasing the city and its old fortresses.

Dhow Factory - Visit the renowned Arabian Dhow Factory, where traditional wooden Dhows are constructed.

Oman - The tour continues to the Omani Ghazal Farm in Al Kamel (Asilel Farm).

Wadi Bani Khalid - The next destination is Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most beautiful wadis in Oman, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, relaxing, and picnicking amidst scenic wadi canyons.

Wahiba Sands - In the late afternoon, the tour proceeds to the desert camp in Wahiba Sands, where guests can relax or enjoy an adventurous 4×4 drive on the sand dunes. The day concludes with a stunning desert sunset view from a large sand dune, followed by dinner at the camp and a romantic campfire. Camel rides are available for 3 OMR per person.

Jebel Akhdar – Birkat Al Mouz Old Village – Irrigation System of Al Katmyn – Nizwa

Jebel Akhdar - The next stop is Jebel Akhdar, also known as the Green Mountain, part of the Al Hajar Mountains range in the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of 2,980 meters and includes the Saiq Plateau at 2,000 meters above sea level.

Birkat Al Mouz Ruins - After lunch, the tour heads to Birkat Al Mouz, a unique village nestled into a mountain face.

Aflaj Irrigation Systems of Oman - The Al Kattmyn irrigation system, one of the five irrigation systems of Oman, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in 2006.

Nizwa Fort Oman - After breakfast, the tour departs for Nizwa, the former capital of Oman, home to the famous Nizwa Fort, which serves as a museum offering splendid views of the ancient town and surrounding mountains.

Nizwa Souk - At the Nizwa Souk, guests can browse and purchase Omani silver crafts and other beautiful handmade items. This extensive marketplace, one of the oldest in the country, primarily offers fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish, housed in separate blocks behind the city wall overlooking the wadi.

Al Hamra - After exploring Nizwa, the tour visits Al Hamra Old Village, home to the mountain village of Misfah Al Abryeen, where some of the oldest preserved houses in Oman can be found.

Jebel Shams - The tour continues to Jebel Shams, the Grand Canyon of Oman, which the Ministry of Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, states to be 3,009 meters (9,872 feet) high, before returning to Muscat.
