• Kesänkijärvi - Ascend to this ideally situated viewpoint where seven distinct fells form a natural amphitheater around the frozen Lake Kesänki. Spanning 2.3 square kilometers, the lake offers clear views of the northern horizon, essential for aurora photography from September to April. The surrounding snow remains pristine, averaging a depth of 65cm from December to March, providing perfect foregrounds for landscape photography.
• Kellostapuli - Explore the traditional grazing lands of Ylläs’s 10,000 reindeer. The silver birch forest covers over 400 hectares, creating a magical setting where light filters through the canopy. From January to March, fresh snow falls at an average of 3-5cm daily, ensuring ideal conditions for exploration.
• Akaslompolo - From December to April, Äkäslompolo becomes a winter paradise, with snow-laden branches forming natural archways and the polar night casting a mystical blue light over everything. The village is the gateway to over 330 kilometers of meticulously maintained cross-country ski trails and numerous winter walking paths, each leading to hidden gems in the surrounding wilderness.
