• Zugspitze - Experience an unforgettable day with a breathtaking 360° view from Germany’s highest mountain. Riding the ultra-modern aerial cable car is a unique adventure!

Alternatively, the cog railway can be taken for the return journey. The glacier cable car between the cog railway’s mountain station and the summit is available for unlimited use.

During summer, sleds (“Zipfelbobs”) can be borrowed from the ‘Sonnalpin’ restaurant, subject to availability. Enjoy diverse meals at Germany’s highest beer garden or one of the many restaurants on the Zugspitze.

• Eibsee - Nestled at the base of the majestic Zugspitze, Eibsee is one of the most stunning alpine lakes. Enjoy a boat trip (in summer), a short walk to the top photo spot Eibseebrücke, or join us for a 75-minute walk around the lake to admire the breathtaking mountain views and numerous islands!
• Skistadion, Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Constructed during the Nazi regime for the 1936 Winter Olympics and renovated for the planned 1940 Winter Olympics, which were canceled due to World War II. The communities of Garmisch and Partenkirchen were forcibly merged for this purpose.

The Partnach Gorge is a captivating 700-meter (1/2 mile) long and up to 80-meter (260 feet) deep gorge through which the meltwater of the Zugspitze Glacier flows. It is accessible year-round on secure paths and is an ideal destination in any weather!

From the parking lot to the gorge entrance, it takes 25 minutes on foot or, in season, by horse-drawn carriage (approximately € 30.00 for 4 people each way)

• Ludwigstrasse - The historic Ludwigstraße in the Partenkirchen district, with its colorful murals (“Lüftlmalerei”), is a must-see! It invites visitors to stroll, admire, and enjoy.
  Over 2,000 years ago, this was a Roman trade route between Italy and Augsburg.
• Schloss Linderhof - OPTIONAL:
  In a secluded Alpine valley, Bavaria’s ‘fairytale king’ Ludwig II constructed his most splendid and intimate castle. The 30-minute guided tour of the French Rococo-style rooms is breathtaking.
  Other attractions in the castle park can also be explored.

• Oberammergau - Be captivated by Germany’s most beautiful and renowned alpine village.
  On a 20-minute guided tour, see the famous wall paintings (“Lüftlmalerei”), the wood carvers (offering exquisite Christmas cribs), and the Passion Play House, where the world-famous Passion Play - Corona will not be performed until 2022.
  Feel free to explore the area independently afterward.
• Ettal Abbey - Less than a 20-minute drive from Garmisch-Partenkirchen is the historically unique monastery church of the Benedictine Ettal monastery.
  Discover the numerous details of this late Baroque gem and the monastery’s spectacular foundation.
  If desired, enjoy the delicious Ettaler Klosterbier from the in-house brewery.
• Starnberger See - During a stop at Bavaria’s second-largest lake, visit the site where the incapacitated King Ludwig II was taken the day before his death; nearby, he mysteriously died on June 13, 1886, on the banks of the former castle park.
  Also close by is the villa Ludwig rented for his admired composer Richard Wagner.

• If you would like to spend some time outdoors on the Mount Zugspitze, please remember suitable clothing (between mountain and valley temperature differences of 20 ° C / 68 ° F are not uncommon!). For those who would like to try the sled, we recommend changing clothes.
