During the 35-minute guided tour of the lavish interiors, it’s hard to imagine that the king stayed here for only 10 days, and entirely alone! * Prices (2025) Herrenchiemsee Palace: Adults €11.00 / Children under 18 years are free * It takes 20 minutes to walk from the pier to the palace, or you can opt for a horse-drawn carriage ride. Your ticket also grants access to the fascinating Ludwig II Museum and the “Old Palace,” where you can marvel at the magnificent baroque rooms of the former monastery. Don’t miss the kitchen, where meals were prepared for the king.
- Bad Tölz - After a drive of less than an hour, we arrive at the charming spa town of Bad Tölz, located on the Isar River. Once a supplier of lumber and beer to Munich, look forward to a further 45-minute journey in our luxurious minivan until we reach the secluded Graswangtal valley, nestled in the Bavarian Alps, where Ludwig’s second fairytale castle is hidden!

- In Linderhof palace you have to walk only approx. two times 10 minutes (relatively flat) and in the 30 minutes tour of the castle you have to climb stairs to the first floor.
- Herrenchiemsee palace can be reached by a 20 minutes walk or by is a horse-driven carriage, starting at the pier (3.50 € per adult, not operating in winter season) In the palace you have to climb stairs up to the 1st floor and back (there is an elevator service for people with mobility impairments).
- Each castle can be reached also with strollers, but they are not allowed during the tour of the interiors.
