Recommended trip - Mat the tour guide was great and very knowledgeable - long day but worth the trip.
The weather was a bit foggy so could not see the beautiful views as well - but we did not let that spoil the experience.

A day in Salzburg by train from Munich - A day trip is just enough time to experience the essence of Salzburg, but the city has so much to offer that an extended visit is also worth considering. The train journey is comfortable and efficient, making it an stress-free way to enjoy this beautiful Austrian City

Highly recommended this day trip to Salzburg! - Elizabeth was such a well organized, informative, and fun tour guide. She was full of history, helpful tips to be efficient with your free time, and recommendations on food / shopping. She even helped me with tips on how to make my next train with only a few minutes to transfer once back in Munich (and yes I made it on time!)!!!0

great activity - our guide, Ellie, was amazing. Very funny and warm, in addition to knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, we had bad weather so it wasn’t as beautiful as I had hoped, but we had plenty of time to explore on our own as well as learn from Ellie’s past experiences

Radius Tours Salzburg sightseeing day trip from Munich by Rail with Elisabeth awesome day - We arrive at the meeting point at Radius Tours office Munich and was greeted by our guide Elisabeth who once she had the complete group of 11. We were off walking to the city centre train station following the guides Mozart duck on top of a pole she waved above her head. Reaching platform 9 where our train was already in and waitng, we made our way to the very front of the train so we could all sit together.
Throughout our journey to Salzburg Elisabeth told us all about what we would see with her before having free time to have lunch and visit anything on our own.
We were told all about the sound of music filming locations and taken to some on our tour. Also being given time to take photos throughout our guided tour.
Once in Salzburg we got on a bus all together being told when to get off. Our guide made sure we had recommended places for lunch, showed us Mozart's birth place and the flat where he lived. A local brewery and home of Mozart chocolate balls as it was the first one although many now also sell them. Being Mozart's birthday on the 27th January 2025 so many concerts and celebrations would be going on for that week. Having been shown our meeting point and the time to get back to it Elisabeth left us by the cathedral for our free time in Salzburg. First we visited a place told about to try a local goulash, which to be honest we found to be very salty and with two glasses of rose wine just over fifty pounds wasn't cheap. Apart from that it started to rain which put paid to walking around to far from shelter.
We all met up again on time and followed mozart duck to get on a bus back to the train station for our journey back to Munich again. This tour included the train return fare, 2 x bus travel tickets and our excellent guide Elisabeth in the price.
Some other tours it is extra so read what is included and what is not before booking as we did so booked this Radius Tours Salzburg sightseeing day trip from Munich by Rail and after returning to Munich and having an awesome day we all said goodbye to Elisabeth and went our separate ways.

Great! - Great guided tour of Elizabeth, we were with a small baby and worried all the time about our accessibility to the train and the city. We explained everything very well and loved the tour ❤️
