- Obersalzberg - Begin the journey from Munich to Obersalzberg, a picturesque trip offering stunning views of the Bavarian Alps. On a clear day, the magnificent Watzmann Mountains may be visible upon arrival. After about two hours of travel, the destination of Obersalzberg will be reached.
- The Eagle’s Nest - From Obersalzberg, a special bus will transport visitors to the summit of Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus). Here, a tunnel leads to an elevator that ascends to a high command post constructed by the Nazi party for Hitler’s 50th birthday. The panoramic terrace offers breathtaking views of the Alpine landscape.
Visitors can return to the bus station either by elevator or by walking along a scenic path with captivating views throughout.
Enjoy free time at the summit to take in the views and delve into history.
- Berggasthof Obersalzberg - After exploring Eagle’s Nest, there will be an opportunity to stop at the Restaurant Berghof for lunch and enjoy some leisure time (costs not included in the tour price).
- Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg - Free time is available to visit the Documentation Center and explore the site of Hitler’s former residence (visit is optional and at one’s own expense).
- Munich - At approximately 4pm, the return journey to Munich will commence through the German Alps, offering enchanting views and mesmerizing landscapes. Arrival is expected around 6pm.

Explore the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), a mountaintop lodge constructed by the Nazis as a gift for Hitler. Situated dramatically at 6,148 feet (1,834 meters) on Mt. Kehlstein, this historic location provides some of the most spectacular views of the Alps in Germany. Interestingly, Hitler seldom visited the lodge due to his vertigo and discomfort with heights.
Eagle’s Nest is accessible only from May through the end of October, subject to weather conditions.
- In case of snow and ice, the Eagle’s Nest will be closed and world famous Salt Mines will be visited instead
- A current valid passport is required on the day of travel

We had a great experience... - We had a great experience as a family of four. The driver, Simon, was excellent and got us there-and-back safely and smoothly. Our tour guide, Jonathan (“Johnny”), was a wealth of knowledge and had a charming personality. Overall, it was an excellent experience and would highly recommend. There were only two complaints that I had. First, there were two areas on opposite sides of the street for the buses to depart from. This wasn’t clear in the directions. We arrived even earlier than requested, but didn’t realize that we were on the wrong side as we went to the side explained in the instructions. Second, it wasn’t explained that the restaurant was on-site. While the some of the dishes at the restaurant we ate at were delightful, we would have preferred to have eaten in the Kehlsteinhaus. The only reason we didn’t is because we were told we needed to meet in an hour for the shuttle. In reality, we could have eaten there and changed the ticket to a later time then met at the Dokumentationszentrum at the same time. Having said that, all-in-all this was still a very great experience and I would gladly go on it again.

Don’t miss learning about Hitler!! - Beatriz was a wonderful guide full of knowledge- unfortunately it rained at The Eagles Nest…but it was with it… especially the wonderful new mus afterwards where we watched a movie, went through tunnels from the world and read lots of information. This history is wonderful!!!

It's important to go day... - It is important to go on a sunny day. Otherwise you can't see anything from above. The drink and food from the restaurant in front of the banker is great.

Excellent history coverage! - Our tour guide was excellent. Scenery was unbelievable! Very well organized! Be sure to bring a raincoat as it could rain at any time.

Top tour! - Really informative tour. Fab guide and driver. Plenty time to explore area and museum. Beautiful views.
Option to buy tickets for bus to eagles nest and museum on board the bus.
We traveled with older children and they enjoyed the experience and found it interesting.

Great guide, comfortable bus and a challenging but informative experience. - The tour guide Beatrix was very knowledgeable, friendly and organised. The bus was comfortable. Berchtesgaden and Eagle’s Nest were confronting but had be de-nazified and the Documentation Centre museum was very comprehensive. We would have liked a bit more time at the museum.

The tour was great, very... - The tour was great, very punctual, detailed and well organised and our wonderful guide knew so much about the history of Germany, Munich and the Eagle's Nest. There is a good mix of sight seeing and free time throughout the day.

Eagles Nest in the mist…… - Found the title of this tour somewhat misleading, I expected to visit the pretty town of Berchtesgarden as well as the Eagles Nest. Unfortunately just drove through the town to get to the Eagles Nest. Then, no fault of the tour operator, you can’t control the weather, but the fog and clouds came right down and you could see nothing, no views whatsoever, you were unable to see more than a few feet! So disappointed as i have wanted to visit for so long. This unfortunately ruined the whole experience for me. The tunnel system at the documentation centre made up for it a little.

Supposed to be back by... - Supposed to be back by 6pm didn’t until after 7. Driver didn’t know the route and made mistakes both coming and going. Strayed across Austrian border.

Did not go but could not cancel in time. - My friend's arrival in Munich, July 10, was delayed 12 hours, due to the airline's problem. I tried to cancel the reservation for Eagle's Nest on July 11, but it was already too late to get the refund, or even to reschedule. It was rainy on July 11, so I was hoping to hear that Viator had cancelled that day. I received no such notification. So congratulations, folks; you took about $200 from me and gave me nothing in return. I will NOT be recommending you.
