• Sólheimajökull Glacier Parking Lot - Sólheimajökull is Iceland’s southernmost glacier, with ice reaching up to approximately 200 meters in thickness and a total area, including the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, of about 600 km². Beneath the main ice cap lies the caldera of Katla, one of Iceland’s largest volcanoes.

Difficulty: The glacier walk does not require any special skills and can be enjoyed by individuals in good health.

The glacial landscape is breathtaking and ever-changing, featuring crevices, holes, and small hills of black volcanic sand. Occasionally, there are opportunities to peer into the small holes or caves.

The 3-hour Glacier Walk offers an incredible adventure, allowing participants to experience the sensation of walking on glacier ice. The walk takes place on Sólheimajökull glacier, which is part of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, located on Iceland’s south coast, near Skógar and Vík, where the glacier walk base is situated.
