Go try ice climbing - Loved this experience, definitely one of the most memorable (and hard) things I've done. Highly recommend - our guides were also so amazing and personable. Made the experience even better.

Fantastic ice climbing experience for beginners! - The experience was beyond my expectations as this was our first time ice hiking and climbing. Our guide Steve was a lot of fun, explaining things as we moved along. We had nervous hikers/climbers in our family and we always felt safe. The ice climbing experience was amazing! Steve found a challenging "hole". It was very exciting to get several meters into the glacier. His clear explanation/demonstrations made the experience truly unique! My kids are now excited to try it again!

Unforgettable experience, exceptional guides Daniel and Steven! - A huge thank you to the incredible guides, Daniel and Steven! Daniel was an exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic guide who brought such great energy from the very beginning. Thanks to him, the group connected right away and shared an amazing experience together. And a very special thank you to Steven—his knowledge, calm presence, and attention to safety made a real difference. I felt completely safe during the climb because of him. His professionalism stood out, and his care and support didn’t go unnoticed. Throughout the trip, we could clearly see how much more careful, prepared, and professional our guides were compared to other groups around us. It made us feel secure, and grateful to be in such capable hands. Truly unforgettable—thank you both for making it such an amazing adventure! P.S. Our driver and guide, Kristjan, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating insights about Iceland—things that clearly came from his own passion and experience, not just the usual tour guide script. His storytelling made the journey so much more engaging and memorable!

Definitely be prepared... - Definitely be prepared for your calves to be very sore, as long as you have the right form for climbing. The glacier itself can only be described as other-worldly. The guides were very helpful in keeping everyone safe but also being fun and having a good time.

A fantastic day - Could not recommend this trip enough. If you’re hesitant to book it just do it. It is incredibly accessible and so enjoyable. Huge thanks to the glacier team Monika and Steven. A special mention to our guide Vjeran for not only getting us there and back but going above and beyond. I leant a lot about Iceland and had the best time. A real highlight.

Wonderful time ice climbing - Had a great time doing this activity. The first part in the bus with Anastasia was quite interesting and full of enjoyable facts about Iceland. Then we hit the ice with Daniel. He was amazing and truly did awesome. He went out of his way to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. We hiked the glaciers, and did 3 different climbs. We even got to explore a small ice tunnel ! All of this was done in a very friendly and humourous manner, and we all felt very secured with Daniel. Thanks to the whole team that made this trip very enjoyable to us. Ps : Daniel, if you read this, I need you to follow me back on IG so that I can send you the pictures !

Fun, Exciting and well worth it - I was lucky enough to be the only booking of the day, my guide Daniel was excellent and allowed me to take on bigger and more exciting climbs once he gauged my skill level and without a group we were able to do a lot more exploring that usually Glacier is well worth the trip and the climbing is fun and exciting Would go again

Highlight of the trip! - 10/10 would recommend for a day out from Reykjavík. The pick up and drop off process from your hotel or bus stop made everything so much easier. There are plenty of food and toilet stops along the way but worth taking some cash too as eftpos can go offline sometimes. Ice climbing and hiking up the Glacier was the highlight of the day. And probably the trip! Such a cool experience to hike up a Glacier and climb up an ice wall. Guides were super fun, helpful and knowledgeable. We always felt safe (as can be!) No complaints! Would absolutely recommend. A tip for all tourists is be back at the bus on time for every stop because it slows everyone else down. Sometimes people in your group meet up with other groups to do different activities. So timing is key.

Great tour with a small annoyance - Everything we hoped it would be: adventure of climbing ice, walking a glacier, scenic views and a skilled and informative guide. The only reason for 4 (vs 5) stars is that we were charged for hiking boots. When we arrived we were told that hiking boots with ankle support is *required*. I don’t recall that being in the Viator description, but that’s fine, just provide the boots for us. The boots were available, and for a small enough charge, but it just feels deceptive to charge us extra. Again, it was a great tour, 5 stars in every other way, but please, just charge a tad more for the general ticket to cover cost of *required* boots as no one likes to have to pull out their credit card again for something they booked a month in advance.
